Hopefully Boris won't fail on immigration too.

2020-02-05 09:33:10 UTC

He'll fail on everything

2020-02-05 09:33:28 UTC

I didn't join the boris dick-sucking club at the election like so many here

2020-02-05 09:33:37 UTC

Said i'd give him the benefit of the doubt

2020-02-05 09:33:43 UTC

It took him 8 weeks to flunk out

2020-02-05 09:36:59 UTC

He's got an uphill battle to win back my trust

2020-02-05 09:37:04 UTC

I don't see it happening

2020-02-05 09:39:58 UTC

He needs to get rid of Micheal Gove.

2020-02-05 09:40:13 UTC

MIchael Gove is ok, just not where he is

2020-02-05 09:40:19 UTC

He's an absolute fucking boomer

2020-02-05 09:40:34 UTC

Put him in some fossil job where he can't harm anything

2020-02-05 09:40:39 UTC

Give him Rees-Mogg's job

2020-02-05 09:47:26 UTC

So I was reading a BBC article, whereby it basically said the price of electric cars will be similar to petrol by 2025, however, we will need literally like 25 million more charging points than we have now

2020-02-05 09:47:31 UTC

Which is mental

2020-02-05 09:49:53 UTC

Bullshit

2020-02-05 09:50:02 UTC

Written by someone who was scientifically illiterate

2020-02-05 09:50:26 UTC

Battery tech used is 30 years old, there isn't going to be an order-of-magnitude drop in the cost of the batteries

2020-02-05 09:51:02 UTC

And the tiny amount of development headroom they have for improving them, will be in charging, will involve IP and novel materials and therefore will serve to keep the price up, not down

2020-02-05 09:51:23 UTC

I've said for ages that the people the BBC and other journals get for science reports have absolutely fucking no knowledge of science

2020-02-05 09:53:03 UTC

(Completely ignoring that ramping up the extraction needed for the metals for these cars is going to fuck over the environment)

2020-02-05 09:54:48 UTC

Have you looked into hydrogen cars?

2020-02-05 09:55:31 UTC

Briefly, they would seem a sensible alternative to electric, and hydrogen could be generated by excess electricity generation, but the same infrastructure/distribution and baseline car costs remain

2020-02-05 09:55:35 UTC

Also, it's fucking dangerous

2020-02-05 09:55:53 UTC

I see

2020-02-05 09:56:01 UTC

Driving a hydrogen car means you're essentially driving around strapped to a bomb

2020-02-05 10:07:35 UTC

Why not just improve on filtration systems and develop on stuff like biodiesel? Would seem like a more practical alternative instead of trying to reinvent the wheel with electric cars and the massive infrastructure investment they would require...

2020-02-05 10:08:04 UTC

Biodiesel is terrible

2020-02-05 10:14:24 UTC

Biodiesel is both bad for the environment, and bad for diesel engines

2020-02-05 10:40:47 UTC

What about carbon capture exhausts?

2020-02-05 10:45:45 UTC

euro dying against £ ... some figures just out... bad for euro

2020-02-05 10:46:02 UTC

and some uk figures just out that were really good

2020-02-05 10:47:06 UTC

from the uk services sector... anything above 50 good, below bad... expected 52.9 .. actually came out 53.9 .. really good figures for our sector

2020-02-05 10:48:05 UTC

Anything on other sectors?

2020-02-05 10:48:27 UTC

and retail figures from EU... last figure 2.3% ... expected to be higher 2.4% .. but actually came out less higher 1.3%

2020-02-05 10:49:43 UTC

Issue with carbon capture is it's still fossil fuels

2020-02-05 10:50:11 UTC

I don't have a problem with moving to electric cars, just not in this half-arsed way

2020-02-05 10:50:58 UTC

Well yes, but it can filter out the bad emissions, it's a stepping stone

2020-02-05 10:53:08 UTC

from what i understand, you wouldn't be able to carbon capture on something that portable

2020-02-05 10:53:19 UTC

and besides, hybrids were supposed to be the stepping stone, and they're banning those too

2020-02-05 10:53:42 UTC

electric cars are perfectly functionable, provided the infrastructure - it's the cost that's the problem

2020-02-05 10:56:42 UTC

Melt the ice caps
