The video does not play for me. Regardless yes I understand how you can stamp and press parts it's actually how we do most of our manufacturing. The milling was mostly to remove some of the problems that come from the early models welded parts.
My larger point was that modern manufacturing can circumvent most of these issues. Really the new machines are fucking awesome...

@Jym I get that a CnC machine can work to those tolerances technically.
They did that kind of fine tuned machine work even back to the MP18.
It's just extremely expensive to do on a thing that can be made with stamped parts. Which is what everyone found out in the 1930-40's.
