Germany has plenty of rail anyway
these trucks can be unloaded and regular ones uses as well
The idea is to have an electric vehicle with a battery capacity for some 20km
And an overhead line on autobahn
i would like to understand the thought process for building powerlines over a highway for trucks instead of using trains 😛

Yes it is about efficiency
build facilities closer to their destinations and not have to build rail lines through already incorporated areas
Electric motors are hella more efficient then fuel ones
If its only on autobahn i can see the usefulness of it. But i think the costs outweigh the benifits
why not just use a hybrid engine?

invest money into transporters. Then that will cut traffic in half
Also they plan on making them driverless too

So it would be more permanent attachment to the power line.
trucs will always be less efficient than trains
and trains use a dedicated transport network
