New xeons are but the one I ran you could buy on ebay for under 50, as for the bloomfield one i was talking about;i got out of an hp z400 for free so dw im not hiding vast riches or anything

out of an old hp z400 workstation that had a proprietary psu pinout, and i was bit crazy in the sense i wanted to run 2 gpus (keep in mind this was during the maxwell and r9 2xx/3xx era so no polaris either so gpus were more power hungry) so i parted out that system and built what eventually became the sleeper, which of course i used for a good 4-5 years

That processor went to 3.8/4.1GHz turbo from its stock 3.06/3.2GHz turbo, and it got the same IPC as an i5-3470 with twice the threads

Not bad for a now de ade old piece of silicon huh 😂
