I you are a citizen of an EU country you automatically also have EU passport.

Majority of EU is in Schengen zone which is a zone with free flow of people, products and labour.

4 countrues joined Schengen while not being in EU (Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland), some are in EU but not in Schengen (Roamania and Bulgaria are too poor to join, UK)

Inside Schengen zone you can go from Estonia to Portugal and nobody will stop you at the border. However this law is only for EU citizens so if you would need for example go to hospital and show your documents and you are not EU citizen, than people would found out you are there illegaly.

I have Polish citizenship but I study in Italy, I didn't have to make any visas, permits to stay, etc.

So how would I be able to live in binland or norway

Btw Schengen also includes free movement of services that's why "going on a trip to Slovakia" is in Poland an euphemism for abortion lol (because in Slovakia you can have abortion on demand)

You can also go to Germany if you are a rich porky but Slovakia is cheaper

If you want to stay longer than I think 3 months you just have to register in some local thing but usually your university/workplave/landlord will help or even do this for you

Also, communism is sustainable and the USSR was fully self reliant. The USSR transitioned to capitalism though as it wasn't competitive during the cold war.
