An issue that has been debated recently is that Jews and Israelis shouldn't criticize other countries for closing their borders since themselves are notorious for having tough border securities.
However many will rush to defend Israelis because a country that is threatened by war and terrorism should defend its population. (implying that this risk doesn't exist with immigrants in Europe)
However, how the Israel-Egypt barrier build in 2010 can be explained then? (See link). The Egypt-Israel relationships have been improving over the years and no major threats of terrorism have been originating from Egypt. Is Israel truly as innocent as many believe?
