They can tell if you're using TOR, but not what you do... until they can. Sometimes they can see who is using it and what they access, but they only bother breaking the security for child trafficers etc. afaik
oh so as long as you aren't going down the silk road you're fine
until it's illegal to read the daily stormer
It's the IT equivalent of buying loads of guns. It looks suspicious but you're allowed to do it.
Nah man reading the daily stormer is legal in the UK... afaik
just watch what you post on their boards? or is that still legal
I don't think there's currently anything in our law about reading the stormer, although if you get involved in any crime that could be considered race-related and they see your history (which is easier to get in UK for justice) then they can add a "hate crime" multiplier and get you put away for longer (wheel of fortune justice?)
Obviously you have to watch what you post
That's the case in the USA too, actually. You can't plan out crimes etc. Over here you are also not allowed to say mean things that could spur up racial hatred, especially if they're true tbh
No gtkrwn stuff basically
Holocaust denial as well
That's a recent addition
Anyone here good at memes? The honey bo bo running, but from a dodge would be pretty funny
What is your best argument against tactical nihilism? Today I had someone tell me that my socially conservative believes based on adaption and biological evolution are subjective, and I didn't know what to say other than people are more psychologically coherent when following their own evolved instincts.
But they said "what if a woman's instincts are not to have kids" and that stumped me
Any woman who doesn't want to have kids IS going against their instincts - men and women are biologically hard wired to want to reproduce, a good example of this might be a person's sex drive
It is true for most women that they have it- maybe I should have said that I make policy based on the average and not the individual
They aren't subjective, we can objectively see biological evolution, play out in each countries ability to produce a productive society
They went really full blown tactical nihilism on me asking for my moral presuppositions for my politics
I am not a religious person so I didn't say god I just said evolutionary adaptation
@vaultright people using tactical nihilism generally are trying to deconstruct your point by appealing to the absurdity of the universe, humans, existence in general etc. They are welcome to do this if they accept they don't have a stake in what you do or advocate for. For them to be pro-immigration or anti-traditionalist they have taken a position which is exactly as arbitrary as yours. Nihilism doesn't actually benefit their argument, it just deconstructs any sensible argument.
I pointed that out and they agreed
That their view is just as subjective as mine
So then it's irrelevant
But then they psychoanalyzed me for my subjective beliefs
(((psychoanalysis)))
Saying "were you bullied to become this way?" Like what?
That's ad hominem, you could just as easily analyse her and attack her character in all sorts of ways for being more liberal
I also said psychoanalysis is irrelevant and they disagreed. Then they said we were "having a discussion and not a debate"
So it basicallly went full subjectivism
And i left
I would point out that she is a utopian, asking for things that are idealistic and stem from marxism (which ended in suffering and treachery), and you want traditionalism which is empirically shown to be good for most people
Yeah I didn't even get the chance to point that out
Fair
We need good philosophical arguments against this postmodernist crap
I think Jordan Peterson makes good arguments against postmodernism, not too hot on it myself
Also, you are extremely right about their appeals to absurdity when they are losing the argument
Its so annoying because it has truth to it but no relevance to the argument
Thanks, I'm proud of that one. I've had trouble with the nihilists and that thought was my own. Probably one of my few original ideas (and it was kind of based on what Mike Enoch said anyway...)
