when it was neo-con Christians trying to get shit banned the left was all for freedom of speech, even for hate groups
10+ years later and things flipped hard
yeah, it is all too much
https://twitter.com/benshapiro/status/943590350202986496?lang=en this is still the best tweet ever made
thank you based Ben
i can only wonder how crazy it will be in 2020
it's only going to get more polarized
social media has ruined politics
yes it makes democracy worse, people vote for whoever because reddit told them or they see a funny meme on twitter
almost like
it's a bad idea or something
i think its a common thing for most to just go with the opinion of the strongest force in their lives
hey guys let's give these people the ability to choose their leader that'll work out good in the long run
here is the thing: When liberals say "I AM pro free speech but you are held responsible for what you say" that really means " I am going to call your boss and get you fired and blacklisted for having different politics then I have"
it's very underhanded
a fag at an office job i had was talking about net neutrality and how great it is so i tried to argue that its shit, the dumb nigger didnt even know what an ISP is or any details of the issue. he just knew reddit said it was good so that became his opinion
Kek
Like if you try to get someone fired for liking Trump you are not pro free speech in the slightest
many of these people try and do this
Liberals r not like that at alll,
whoa buddy, the first amendment doesnt protect your job :^)
if they think you're "alt-right" (whatever that means) they want you fired and ruined for life
I have yet to meet a single person online who calls themselves "alt-right"
not one
where are all these people?
where is the alt-right?
someone tell me
all these leftist become constitutional literalist when it comes to free speech
Hot take: Free speech isnt just a fucking amendment, its a principle
Lets talk about grilling, not actual. issues. Ok lol
Legally twitter might be "a private company who has the right", but they are clearly violating free speech
Just my hot take
I seem to remember a case of first amendment rights on company towns
Could build a case against twitter on similar basis as that, let me find the sauce for you
at least it is easy to dodge their bans
Its a private government, they have the right to censor you if they want.
Its freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences, they are allowed to kill you if they disagree.
"Freedom of Press isnt freedom from consequences"
Umm sweaty. I'm allowed to shoot you in the face if I don't like you saying mean things. It's in the constistution
