Let's just say, it's dangerous to put people on pedestals. And I see that happening with Jung. Peterson. Others. I think it's a matter of perspective. I'm not sure how to prove one way or another where the line is between hero worship and simply having a hero. One thing I especially get suspicious of is when one guy seems to answer all these questions for a set group of people. Like a savior. It makes me think that that set group of people can't actually think for themselves. And so, even if the advice from the savior figure is good, the fans will idolize the savior. They'll head in the direction he was pointing, instead of observing, assimilating some of the key point, and finding their own way.
Its a matter of perspective though. I'm sure many Petersonites fancy themselves free thinkers. Personally, I think too many of them are homebodies whove never actually experienced the world. It's hard to make my case I guess, because it's more of a perspective than a logical case.
Overall, I just have caution. Ive been called all sorts of things... Perfectionist. Overthinker. Etc. I just think that people need to always be critical. It doesn't have to be jaded, just critical. Just because something makes sense, doesn't mean it's right. There are SO many times people lap up something they are primed for.
