was by Sharpsburg but we didnt go to the battlefield
When I was a kid, my boy scout troop would set up a plot of luminaries every year in the memorial thing they did at Anteitem
one lit bag for every soldier killed on a 10 foot square grid
rolling hills filled with lit candles
Do u understand what i mean
The KGC did at first approve the idea of a Coup
but it was voted down by the Conservatives
I do get you, and agree
It's starting in Australia now...
damnit why didnt we finish the job tasmania started
the point i was getting at was seeing a visual representation of the number of men that died still has an effect on me
Like i have always said the Conservatives screwed the South
I really wish it had gone down differently
They werent Revolutionaries
and ddint think like Revolutionaries
Because they didnt think like Revolutionaries
they couldnt understand the idea of murdering everyone and taking power
by simple Might makes RIght
Certainly would have resulted far fewer good men being killed
General Bradley T Johnson of Maryland said the same thing
he said the Conservatives held the Maryland Legislature and screwed everyone over
maryland's reluctance to take a side was a problem
The problem was that the secession party probably would have won the 1861 elections
or would have had a plurality at the most
They wanted to not get involved and that was the worst choice
But by that time the battles had already taken place
and the state was already flooded with Bluecoats
that was even before the Martial Law
Maryland was a foreshadowing of Modern America
its what happens when Corporations
take over your government
The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was fanatically Unionist
Which was sad because it was Southern wealthy men who founded it
they wanted the sheckels to keep flowing at the port
Most of White Baltimore was loyal CSA excluding all the Irish Catholic and German Immigrants
who were then almost a majority of the White population in the city
they thought non-confrontation would preserve the sheckel flow and by the time they realized they were wrong, it was too late
Whcih was why General Johnson said the Maryland Union Regiments were strangers
