At first it felt like it didnt really go into detail, like the band formed and started writing songs without a whole lot of character interaction

Felt a bit better later

Basically it feels like they tried to cover so many specific events that in the runtime of ~2:30:00 they couldnt afford to make them feel meaningful

It felt kinda like it was anti-gay too though

Well not necessarily, it felt neutral. It didnt feel like it was pushing a specifically pro-gay agenda. Was definitely homoerotic at some points
