Compartmentalize in itself is a flowery word
I could just say “mentally store” or “file away” or something

But it has that added personal meaning
I mean this more in the sense of making a distinction, a boundary in reality
The problem is trying to get crucial ideas across without using flowery language because the people who need the ideas wouldn’t understand the language
