Really though, can somebody here explain how the Nazi usage of such a common and old symbol ruined it for everyone without just blaming Jews?
Like, holy fuck it does not compute.
It didn't ruin the symbol
It was portrayed as a symbol of hate
by obvious actors
It made it basically impossible to use in any form in the West, which is kind of ruining it for a lot of people.
Even the Hindus can't get away with it over here now.
Yeah they can
I bought brass hindu swastikas on fucking amazon
that i have hung in my room
Yeah, and I have a Nazi flag with five of the damn things on it.
Neither of us would go out with these things showing, though.
Availability does not mean acceptability.
I've met a couple of Hindu guys who've mentioned wanting to wear swasis but being heavily advised against it by their own families here in Australia.
who cares what people think
wear it
truth does not care about social acceptance
lol
don't dress as a nazi out and about
i've worn a shirt that had a black sun on it in a public place while tripping on acid and no one said anything
who cares
noone knows what a black sun is
Dammit, you beat me to it.
anyone who does wouldn't care
youd be surprised
this was an antifa heavy area
they had a bar we walked past
we were gonna go in it and start yelling
but we were way too high to deal with the consequences of that
You'd be very lucky to go out wearing a swasi and not get bashed or at least heavily threatened.
But to be fair, it is very different here. We have people who are perfectly willing and able to beat someone up and risk jail time over a symbol.
With their faces fully visible, on CCTV.
Oh same here
But the difference is being in a group
Also @zuckerbergfan I've gone out dressed as a Luftwaffe officer sans swastikas before with no issues. Turns out you can totally go out dressed as a Nazi if you just remove the one symbol people actually recognise.
lol fair m8
Probably helps that the other main "strange" getup people see me in is a mixture of Communist surplus from various countries.
Best part is that a black hat with a red star on it gets me called a Nazi far more often (Damn close to a 100% difference, in fact) than anything German I have.
tbh i'd be less likely to see a guy in full nazi uniform as a nazi than a guy just with a swastika. full uniform and it's fancy dress
Literally two people have identified my M43 cap as what it is, one was a British boomer who would have learned all about the war in school, and the other was an old German bloke.
