its the reason i can't sleep without a covering of some sort

the only time i've had it was when i was sitting in a passenger seat, brother in law driving

waking up, and seeing a smoke stack on horizon and horizon melting like nuclear apocalypse

wanting to yell out in complete terror but not being able to do it

i would wake up above my covers after an intense nightmare profusely sweating and feeling like there was a dark creature in the room but i couldn't get under the covers and hide because i was paralyzed for 10-15 minutes

i could hear echoes of my heartbeat or the last thing said/done in a dream that slowly faded away

i've never had sleep paralysis but i have awful fever dreams

that's a long time to be in fear without control

it's funny that when you're a kid you dont know what's normal

so i'd just go about my business the next day like it never happened
