You might be surprised though, if you get a solid foundation it's not hard to find freelance work.
c++ is the industry standard for games so i could never avoid learning it
it's unreliable but great for on the side.

yeah, see, it might be worth it once a have my foundations. would take less time and be easier to get said job in the first place
for now im just going to learn the hard languages since ive already learned some easy scripting langs
you can also find work in optimizing larger systems for people and you can charge a lot for it with not a lot of time invested compared to a lot of other kinds of work
