yeah. Furries are cheapskates. Atleast weebs buy Clip Studio.
I got Clip studio becuase of it's Batch-file mechanic for illustrating and printing books
lol wtf is this
you just trace 3d models?
Lol no. I use photoshop to create illustrations and then use clip studio to format the pages of my books for print
Clip Studio is a professional illustration software for printing books and comics. Yes it is Japanese and yes it was originally made for Manga. But it's a one time payment software... unlike Photoshop...
what???
I don't use it at all
I googled it and immediately it looked like it was a shitty 3d modelling tool so you could trace your manga
@turtwig Nah, thats a new feature they're trying to Market. In Japan Clip Studio is their go-to software, whereas here in the west it's Photoshop.
__Photoshop__
> The difference is that Photoshop was really just a Photo-manipulation tool which was modded for drawing.
> Monthly subscription service that requires internet connection
> Doesn't have basic drawing tools by default (such as a symmetry tool and synthetic paint), requires mods.
__Clip Studio Pro__
> Clip Studio (previously named "Manga Studio") is a purpose made illustration and comics software, with inbuilt book formatting and batch file exports
> Single time licence purchase, doesn't require internet connection.
> Free updates for life, but expensive licence for full version.
> Has an entire tool-set dedicated to rules and symmetrical rulers. Every tool can be modified to extreme lengths. All tools are default or provided in free updates.
@turtwig I don't make manga, but Clip Studio is a great tool if your making a book or comic you want to print professionally. Alternatively you have Sketchbook Pro, which was recently made free.
Photoshop is the monthly feed gay
I have it becuase I'm at Uni... but after I leave I'm going to dump it
I'd say almost anything is a better alternative to it, but if I found I had to use it I would just try to buy a retail copy of CS2
I'm using Aseprite, which is also gay
try Sketchbook pro
it used to be a paid software that went free only a few months ago
Whatever you do do not use the GIMP
My current favourite illustration software are ***Clip Studio Pro EX*** and ***Sketchbook Pro***
I got full CC
suits my needs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
unfortunately there isn't an acceptable alternative to illustrator
I agree
I use illustrator from time to time, but the layering system drives me crazy
my job is almost entirely illustrator based rip
Graphics design?
sorta, yeah
sign making
yeah, thats under the umbrella of graphic designer
so I gotta do graphic design shit but like also gotta draw the front of buildings
and shit like that lol
so you do the preliminary sketches aswell
and structural drawings of internal frames and shit
to show the client the potential outcome
