i dont see how that follows. Being against the actions of some state doesn't mean that you hate the religion/race of the inhabitants
fair enough
it comes down to their personal beliefs/motivations
i suppose im giving the benefit of the doubt
yeah but most of the time BDS just comes down to "I hate Jews"
I'm sure there are some that have personal issues specifically against Israel, but even that standpoint is questionable in context. Hamas is doing more damage to the lives of palesinians than Israel is
the palestinians in gaza/west bank are currently winning the oppression olympics against israel, so the progressives sympathize with them
and most Isreali aren't religious at this point - that's why you get the magic Jew card just for having blood
yes, although there is a significant conservative religious hardline segment with a decent amount of political power
yeah and most Israeli people fucking hate them
that's why Bibi is so contentious
he's basically the Ted Cruz of Israel
i had a hilarious "argument" with a pro palestinian person once
or maybe Paul Ryan
you just ask a few questions and they rant and rage
I don't argue with pro-palestinian people, I find common ground wiht them as quickly as possible, and there is always a lot
oh wait I mean actual people who came from the Palestinian territories by that
it seems easiest to focus on the fact that hamas is the bigger problem
right
once you can get them to admit that
same with Persians etc.
they use human shields ffs
a big chunk of my family is from Iran now
my brother married in
i meet a lot of persians in my current work, they love their country but typically hate the regime
and the women _never_ wear hijab
omfg I've never met people who hate Islam more than Persians who made it out of Iran
these are typically educated people who are able to gtfo, so its a little biased
even on the ground though, people in "down with america" demonstrations there openly admit they have nothing against american people, just their government lol
well up until the 70's "Islam" in Iran was more or less a mix of Islam, Zorastrianism, and that religion that's based on gardening that I can't remember the name of
"informal" studies show that Iran likely has largest population of Atheists in the middle east 😄
that wouldnt surprise me honeslty
god damn I hope there's a day I can go there
persian food is good
i could go, i just want to wait until my passport is almost expired, so i can get a new one in case they stamp it
otherwise going to the US will be an issue
I have the mark of the Jew (name, lack of foreskin, tail) so I'm not going to try that
I mean it would probably be a one way trip
im sure your scales would be a dead giveaway
nah you need the special glasses to see those and I'm pretty sure that technology hasn't made it outside of The Order
