Hi guys I am a complete noob when it comes to I.T and computer science, but I am interested in learning more about it. Can anyone suggest any good tutorials to watch?
what is your age range?
Age range? I am 24 if that's what you're asking.
alright
like if you were still in high school, idk
And thank you for the link 😃
Nope
😛
i suppose that would be a more formal approach to computer science and programming. alternatively, you could just jump into some coding tutorials
but i think its helpful to have a bit of conceptual background and understand what computational thinking is
I have been suggested to start with SQL (I think its called that)
how to approach solving problems from the perspective of a computer or algorithm
SQL is a very specific language
I have a lot of experience in learning second languages would that kind of thinking benefit me in this field?
personally i would probably suggest Python
Okay
there are many resources, tutorials and courses online, but the most important thing is to just keep coding, studying and practicing
programming can very much be seen as an art, you won't git gud unless you practice
Standard advice then "You get out what you put in" 😛
also install a linux VM and get familiar with the terminal
haha
you won't "git" gud
haha
unintentional 😛
dis gitta be eating baked commits
VM is Virtual Machine right?
yes
yep
Cool
assuming you run windows currently
gentoo lads unite
just use Ubuntu
sad
it is the most beginner friendly linux
Yep Windows 10 unfortunately
i actually currently only use linux for my servers, I've found the newer versions of W10 much more helpful to work with as a daily driver as soon as you uninstall the 6000 different versions of Candy Crush Saga
i have Windows 10 Enterprise, so
win10 is good man, but i find a lot of tutorials, projects and stuff will assume you are using a *nix machine
oh yeah
