am I allowed to post links to it by the way? it's pretty cool, basically I made a documentation system that uses exclusively no javascript. there's no pages on it yet except for test pages, but still

2018-09-19 20:03:31 UTC

should be fine

2018-09-19 20:03:37 UTC
2018-09-19 20:04:14 UTC

that was some light reading

2018-09-19 20:05:03 UTC

exclusively no javascript? as in specifically doesnt use it?

2018-09-19 20:05:17 UTC

I haven't done web development in a long time, but I chose to design the CSS myself rather than using a framework or anything because I wanted to make it feel like it was made in 2008 or something

2018-09-19 20:05:35 UTC

well, I mean the entire thing is PHP-based and you won't find `<script>` anywhere

2018-09-19 20:05:51 UTC

unless your browser extensions add in `<script>`, in which case, gay

2018-09-19 20:06:03 UTC

im a big fan of no javascript

2018-09-19 20:06:54 UTC

cool. hit us up with updates

2018-09-19 20:07:39 UTC

will do :P
Aside from all of my closed-source projects, there were some open-source Python projects I wanted to document on there before I dropped my support for Python altogether

2018-09-19 20:07:58 UTC

as well as documentation on PinoChe++

2018-09-19 20:08:16 UTC

what if people start only using legacy python <:pepe_smug:378719408341909506>

2018-09-19 20:09:40 UTC

i still can't find this thread because the search queries are very common all throughout pythons github etc, like typing in "python replace master slave" could show you just about any random commit

2018-09-19 20:10:33 UTC

and i would love to know if people really have to change old code now

2018-09-19 20:11:03 UTC

you hev link?

2018-09-19 20:13:06 UTC

well, my problem with python as a whole is that, as a project, it's needlessly easy at the cost of performance. the lack of static types is just retarded- and yes, I know Cython is a thing, I tried it, it's not for compiling statically-typed Python executables, it's for manual optimization and compilation of Python *modules* to C-based python extensions, which just wasn't what I wanted. that, and the syntax is just garbage. what I do like about Python is how it makes sense- the OOP features of the language make it a very logical language to work with, which is vastly different from the hell I experienced when I spent most of my life working with C++ and having to deal with fake and patchy OOP support and garbage class syntax etc

2018-09-19 20:13:10 UTC

and yes, I have the link

2018-09-19 20:13:56 UTC

im not terribly interested in python because its not very shippable

2018-09-19 20:14:37 UTC

i'll work with anything i have to, but otr tho sig. whitespace is cancer

2018-09-19 20:15:02 UTC

thx 🍷 🍿

2018-09-19 20:15:32 UTC

and here was a very unhappy response from someone who probably looked at this the same way I did https://github.com/python/cpython/pull/9410

2018-09-19 20:16:18 UTC

oh and this, to add to the first list https://github.com/python/cpython/pull/9335

2018-09-19 20:17:08 UTC

you have to remember that google uses python for a lot of their projects, so a lot of these changes could've come from pressure induced by corporations who use the langauge

2018-09-19 20:18:19 UTC

what a shitshow

2018-09-19 20:20:48 UTC

even the ones marked offtopic, arent <:sad:382980750347206666>

2018-09-19 20:20:54 UTC

this lang is dead

2018-09-19 20:20:57 UTC

DEAD

2018-09-19 20:21:15 UTC

yep

2018-09-19 20:21:28 UTC

they simultaneously pissed off like 50% of the people who use the language, perhaps more

2018-09-19 20:24:30 UTC

Aye

2018-09-19 20:24:41 UTC

I want to code in the most offensive language possible

2018-09-19 20:25:10 UTC

the code should read as foul as my comments do <:pepe_smug:378719408341909506>

2018-09-19 20:26:58 UTC

i have a question, when did programmers start having all these feelings and shit?

2018-09-19 20:27:11 UTC

youd think theyd be a lil more logical?

2018-09-19 20:28:11 UTC

Pythondev must have a lot of psychos

2018-09-19 20:29:58 UTC

nah

2018-09-19 20:30:05 UTC

it's mainstream politics influencing mainstream people

2018-09-19 20:30:21 UTC
