@M4Gunner I'm a newfag to programming, what would be a book you recommend to a sped like me?
@Veritas Prognostician for the absolute beginner, i wouldnt scoff at the Dummies series
https://c-for-dummies.com/cfordummies/
Hmm
If you wanted to learn C you should get The C Programming Language 2nd Edition by Kernighan and Richie (AKA the famous "KnR C")--this book assumes at least some coding knowledge though
If you got C for Dummies, and learn C the hard way, the KNR C will seem a lot less cryptic
If you just want to get into coding, an Arduino can be beneficial
Learning to code in C without a goal is kind of like doing math at school, it gets boring pretty soon because it all looks useless
Yes get an arduino for sure
that will teach you BabyC
@Veritas Prognostician I like Bucky(this guy) because he has tuts in like every language and he explains things *the dumb way* which is great for scrubs like me
https://www.youtube.com/user/thenewboston/playlists
But the possibility to make actual things that work or to make short therm projects keeps the interest/engagement for longer
thats true--an arduino will give you some fun projects you can see real results from quickly
if theres a definitive arduino scrubs book, i havent heard of it yet but would like to
Scrubs?
scrubs
newfags, plebs
Oh
The official Arduino kit and relating book are golden
The only kit worth its money tbh
And the examples are so good they got in the ide
@Veritas Prognostician Install Autohotkey and learn to hack and automate your Windows desktop easily using short pieces of code--I very much recommend this for middle school age or completely new coders
