Roofs are cool. The problem with getting drunk on them though is you might fall off. Never done it, but I've seen it.

2018-07-09 20:47:44 UTC

well if I were drunk I would struggle to access my roof

2018-07-09 20:48:13 UTC

the choice is ladder to the flat garage and across or out the bathroom window

2018-07-09 20:48:18 UTC

I took the window route

2018-07-09 20:48:28 UTC

neither are good plans because my ladder sucks

2018-07-09 21:39:02 UTC

Just drove my car with the new SRI. Whew lad, it fixed everything.

2018-07-09 21:39:38 UTC

Added a bit more power, sounds far nicer, and now the engine is no longer suffocating under a dry filter that does not even work right.

2018-07-09 22:41:10 UTC

Nice πŸ˜„

2018-07-10 00:57:33 UTC

I've been considering modifying my box intake for an extra cold air feed because I don't really want a cone filter sucking in warm engine air

2018-07-10 00:57:38 UTC

but I'm also super lazy

2018-07-10 00:57:59 UTC

I think there are heat shields available that somewhat stop warm air intake

2018-07-10 01:01:32 UTC

here's an example of the lack of heat shielding with a cone filter

2018-07-10 01:52:18 UTC

@LOGiK you would frankly be better off with a whole new intake really. One with a heat shield and cone filter

2018-07-10 01:52:51 UTC

Whatever power you lose from sucking in engine air is made up for with the heat shield and more heat resistant intake

2018-07-10 01:53:39 UTC

Its the reason i went with one. Lots of research, amd the general consensus seemed to be that a whole new SRI with heat shield is best for turbos.

2018-07-10 02:02:45 UTC

I know box mods are enough for s1 tuning and the shitty sr gearbox isn't really up to more than s1, I don't need more than about 300hp so the box mod is the cheap way to go, but I'm very lazy

2018-07-10 02:03:25 UTC

I guess if I see a z32 afm with a cone filter I'll grab it and remap

2018-07-10 05:43:01 UTC

I'unno, those SRI's are pretty easy to install.

2018-07-10 05:43:18 UTC

As long as you remember that there's supposed to be two gaskets in it.

2018-07-10 05:43:21 UTC

Don't forget that.

2018-07-10 05:43:38 UTC

I forgot that until I had mine fully assembled. Had to take the whole fucking thing apart again.

2018-07-10 05:43:49 UTC

Turned a 30 minute install into 2 hours

2018-07-10 15:54:57 UTC

Volkswagen AG has more Nurburgring lap time records than any other brand, including the current fastest. Keep in mind these are the people who make Porsche.

2018-07-10 15:55:55 UTC

all modern VW's have Audi engines and they're usually the same ones put in Audi cars so its not rare to be able to bump up your VW by 50-100hp simply by swapping in some Audi parts.

2018-07-10 15:59:32 UTC

oh, and Lamborghinis are VW products too, and not just in name either, they've audi TSI V10/V12's.

2018-07-10 18:07:06 UTC

@radeon When did Lamborghini drop their 40 year old V10?

2018-07-10 18:07:29 UTC

they haven't used the exact same engine for 40 years

2018-07-10 18:08:09 UTC

Alright, it's the battle of the North Atlantic boys:

2017/8 V8 Vantage, vs Mustang.

2018-07-10 18:08:12 UTC

its the same engine as the R8

2018-07-10 18:08:48 UTC

@radeon Hmm, thats a bit of a letdown I guess. Not exactly living up to their Italian heritage

2018-07-10 18:09:08 UTC

602 bhp, its also the fastest lamborgini on the ring.

2018-07-10 18:10:35 UTC

third fastest car around the nurburgring is the V10 making 631 hp

2018-07-10 18:10:56 UTC

and to be clear, that is faster than *all* ferraris

2018-07-10 18:43:04 UTC

vw and their ownership of other brands has lead to the boring corporate snoozewagons being so prevalent, almost everything being made by the vw umbrella is soulless corporate cash grabs. While lambo might be more reliable now, they're much more boring, the urus is an insult to the brand, most of audis lineup is reskinned vws with awd options, bentley is now the automotive equivalent of designer handbags, porsche are the only ones with any individuality left really and that's because the outright ownership is also the most recent and convoluted

2018-07-10 18:47:48 UTC

oh and then there are the side companies; seat and skoda which just sell polos, golfs and passats with different shapes

2018-07-10 18:51:09 UTC

also nobody knows how fast ferraris are because they cheat on all the testing

2018-07-10 18:51:50 UTC

they put goddamn slicks and road legality breaking ecu tunes on their test cars, it's complete bs
