The boost cutting and ticking noise it makes, as well as the fact that my car thinks any day over 90 degrees is actually -40 degrees, those are more serious

2018-07-13 20:25:25 UTC

if it's just the temperature reader that shows for you being faulty

2018-07-13 20:25:29 UTC

that isn't an issue

2018-07-13 20:25:44 UTC

if the car is registering air temp to the ecu as that, that could be an issue

2018-07-13 20:26:38 UTC

an obd reader would give you a live show of what the ecu is reading

2018-07-13 20:27:53 UTC

I may rent one.

2018-07-13 20:28:00 UTC

But yeah I think it is actually doing that.

2018-07-13 20:28:07 UTC

The whole car goes wonky when it does

2018-07-13 20:28:34 UTC

Boost cuts (I can actually hear the blow off valve go off, and then the turbo gets quiet for the rest of the drive), and the AC turns off.

2018-07-13 20:28:58 UTC

honestly, not worth renting, mine cost like $10 off amazon and works great

2018-07-13 20:29:57 UTC

find someone who has one and will let you borrow it, honestly if you have a friendly garage nearby it wouldn't surprise me if they'd do it free

2018-07-13 20:30:14 UTC

but it would be better to have one if your car is going into some sort of limp mode

2018-07-13 20:30:28 UTC

Provided I can even get it to do that.

2018-07-13 20:30:36 UTC

It isn't doing it reliably

2018-07-13 20:30:54 UTC

Since I installed my SRI a few days ago, it has done it exactly twice.

2018-07-13 20:31:05 UTC

And after specifically trying to get it to do so, it refuses to.

2018-07-13 20:40:19 UTC

has it only done it since the sri?

2018-07-13 21:07:03 UTC

Nope. It's been doing this since I got the car

2018-07-13 21:07:16 UTC

Would have turned me off from it but with my budget it was the best option lol

2018-07-13 21:11:57 UTC

weird

2018-07-13 21:14:02 UTC

A lot of shit on this car seems to be made out of rubber, so it seems to start getting eaten away after about 75k miles

2018-07-13 21:14:07 UTC

Like the PCV valves.

2018-07-13 21:14:10 UTC

Both rubber

2018-07-13 21:14:28 UTC

And the engine has a habit of eating them. Literally they get ingested into the intake and eaten

2018-07-13 21:16:29 UTC

Pick up the metal universal PCV from AutoZone or wherever

2018-07-13 21:17:26 UTC

I might just do that.

2018-07-13 21:17:32 UTC

It's past the warranty date anyway

2018-07-13 22:07:55 UTC

does your car have a timing belt?

2018-07-13 22:16:21 UTC

I don't believe so.

2018-07-14 22:41:24 UTC

A few people pointed it out in the comments, but this really isn't very accurate

2018-07-14 22:42:03 UTC

In a country like America, which has massively open roads, the vast majority of it unlit at night with cars a far distance from each other, red turn signals are preferable

2018-07-14 22:42:12 UTC

It's not ambiguous. I see blinky from right hand side, I know it's turning right. Easy peasy.

2018-07-14 22:42:17 UTC

Exactly

2018-07-14 22:42:31 UTC

From a long distance, a hybrid brake/signal light is far safer

2018-07-14 22:42:50 UTC

Hell, I've seen practically *white* signals from 'yellow' lamps (Lookin at you Honda/Acura)

2018-07-14 22:43:04 UTC

I've been thrown off more than once by cars with yellow turn signals.

2018-07-14 22:43:15 UTC

I literally could not see them because the car was braking

2018-07-15 02:36:08 UTC

well that's weird, because I've never had that problem

2018-07-15 02:41:22 UTC

Some cars are worse about it than others. Also depends on conditions, etc.

2018-07-15 02:51:50 UTC

well yeah, hence it seems like a rather circumstantional issue
