Even if it's not, if you travel any reasonable distance you're likely to go through states where it is

2018-07-19 22:09:45 UTC

and again even if it's not, there are plenty of people who just ignore that

2018-07-19 22:10:58 UTC

also, honestly, it's gonna cost you less to just pick up a small pickup

2018-07-19 22:11:36 UTC

I have many times been tempted to get one of these https://www.gumtree.com/p/volkswagen/vw-caddy-pick-up-diesel/1306168421

2018-07-19 22:11:38 UTC

Pickups aren't as small as a motorcycle trike

2018-07-19 22:12:52 UTC

the size difference is not significant really

2018-07-19 22:13:06 UTC

and this is probably smaller, through prohibitively expensive in this debate:

2018-07-19 22:13:53 UTC

though the load carrying ability of that basically renders it kinda stupid, cute though

2018-07-19 22:18:16 UTC

We don't have those haha

2018-07-19 22:18:49 UTC

I'm looking for a street legal vehicle that is 55" in width or less

2018-07-19 22:18:59 UTC

so I can take it on trails

2018-07-19 22:19:49 UTC

I don't see why the mini pickup wouldn't be street legal, but the mini is wider than 55in

2018-07-19 22:20:35 UTC

oh my mistake, the mini is dead on 55

2018-07-19 22:21:44 UTC

I think the mini pickup would probably be too expensive though, not many were made and most rusted to shit so they're rare as hell now

2018-07-19 22:22:28 UTC

Its also front wheel drive, and would be useless off road

2018-07-19 22:24:01 UTC

uh... I think you'll find that a) fwd is usually better than rwd off road and b) the mini, aside from the lower than ideal clearance, is damn good off road for what it is

2018-07-19 22:25:05 UTC

<:what:382980756139409409> Nigga, go get yourself a VW beetle.

2018-07-19 22:25:16 UTC

fwd better off-road my ass

2018-07-19 22:25:17 UTC

the mini was better than the beetle

2018-07-19 22:25:27 UTC

and much better off road

2018-07-19 22:25:31 UTC

That's not off-road, that's gravel.

2018-07-19 22:25:52 UTC

the problem with the mini off road was the sump was somewhat vulnerable

2018-07-19 22:27:56 UTC

also the beetle is too wide for your criteria anyway

2018-07-19 22:29:09 UTC

I wasn't saying it was. I'm just comparing a similar vehicle class with a different engine arrangement

2018-07-19 22:29:25 UTC

A mini couldn't do that methinks

2018-07-19 22:31:50 UTC

not without being lifted and would ideally want wider wheels pushing it over the 55in

2018-07-19 22:32:19 UTC

the clearance is the main issue though, like I said the sump is pretty vulnerable

2018-07-19 22:32:31 UTC

I honestly wouldn't think a trike would do well on that either though

2018-07-19 22:33:21 UTC

holy shit

2018-07-19 22:34:00 UTC

I've been down a road like that in multiple normal fwd cars, tire placement ends up being the most important thing.

2018-07-19 22:34:19 UTC

it's 11 inches over on width but it would be ideal, and cheap

2018-07-19 22:38:08 UTC

Lol we ain't got Ladas

2018-07-19 22:38:38 UTC

closest appx is the Wrangler, CJ and YJ

2018-07-19 22:39:04 UTC

And the Samurai/Jimny

2018-07-19 22:40:17 UTC

If you're in the US you could bring anything in over 25yrs right?

2018-07-19 22:40:34 UTC

Yeah, but import fees, and then parts, etc
