part of me can't wait for driverless cars so the car industry basically dies
with all the bs emissions shit out there I'm surprised they haven't started to fuck suvs over hard
Eh.
Not getting into that argument
Perhaps not...

it's a shame diesels will probably be banned for non commercial vehicles in Europe within 20 years
wich is sad, as the new diesel engines are almost in the negative emissions at least on trucks
nox is the problem
bosch supposedly have something that cuts nox massively but it's not been implemented yey
yet
Diesel is best
I am endlessly salty that you eurofags get all the good ones and we get nothing.
Even the ones we do get are castrated.
I mean the bmw 3.0d makes 255hp here but it makes, what, 300+ hp in europe?
Definitely 300 at the crank.
@LordCaledus Yeah, but the Euros can't drive around a Cummins in the middle of a big city.
This is true
Kind of wish there was a market for diesel muscle cars tbh.
Bmw 760d and the audi 4.0tdi show quite well that you can make a sporty diesel.
I would personally love to see a 370-390hp 5.0 cummins option for a challenger or charger R/T
I've heard bad things about the 5.0
Isnt it a new engine?
I expect bad things from it when new tbh
Besides, that would just make it fit in even better with fca
I don't usually expect Cummins to put out a new engine without enough testing
Id love to see an engine out there that was released with all the bugs fixed
I certainly dont know of any off the top of my head
Most of the historical problems with Cummins engines were had when people went above and beyond their intended purpose, pushing 700-1000hp on stock internals.
This 5.0 is having issue right off the line
Eh
2007 to 2010 5.9s had issues
Frankly so did the 6.7 when it first came off the line iirc
Its rock solid now, but it didnt used to be
The europeans here probably have no idea what we're talking about lol
Probabaly
Anyone in south america or dubai wouod tho
They love the 5.9 in dubai
I'm not sure how many diesels you guys have driven but it doesn't make for an exciting drive
yes they're torquey as fuck but that doesn't translate to an enjoyable driving experience
they're noticably rougher, even the new ones, if you pair them with manuals you often find yourself needing to shift at the kind of points petrol becomes fun
all the power is low down, they don't rev high
