It serves the same purpose, safe fuel, do better on government regulated tests.
Maybe
Not maybe.
I dislike it. 6th gear on my car is a great cruising gear
5th is pointless
5th gear is a direct drive gear.
That would be 4th gear on my car
4th is direct
So what would your solution be?
what year is it
Make 5th gear slightly shorter
Thats really all it needs
I have a 2014 Eco
Then you'd have the same complaint about 5-6
Not really. 6th gear is fine as is
at 60, what is the rpm difference between 4th and 5th
The difference hmm.
Okay i gotta think for a sec lol
I wanna say i am at roughly 2700 in 4th.
not really a fair question, I don't think I could answer that without trying
2014 Chevrolet Cruze

About 1800 in 5th
you know
I mean maybe it is just me. Thats a possibility
I think your problem with your gear ratio is because you don't like revving your car
Maybe.
I do rev it sometimes, just not super often
It doesnt help that there isnt much of a point to it in my car
The power curve really starts turning into a plateau above 4500rpm
Goes completely flat at 6k
(At least per my butt-dyno)
that's probably because smol turbo
Oh yes
Its a midrange turbo. Not high end by any means
Midrnge revs i mean
I wonder how big of a turbo that engine could spool before it started becoming more laggy
Good question.
Not a whole lotta data on it i dont think. Not many people turbo swap cruzes unless they mean to race or some shit lol
Generally people just try to keep the stock turbo and give it some help.
Probably why you start having more torque than hp once you start getting into intercooler upgrades etc. I think even after just a tune its making 165 ish horsepower and like 177lb ft
well turbo changes usually mean manifold changes which is instantly expensive
