It serves the same purpose, safe fuel, do better on government regulated tests.

2018-07-24 03:05:52 UTC

Maybe

2018-07-24 03:05:59 UTC

Not maybe.

2018-07-24 03:06:13 UTC

I dislike it. 6th gear on my car is a great cruising gear

2018-07-24 03:06:17 UTC

5th is pointless

2018-07-24 03:06:24 UTC

5th gear is a direct drive gear.

2018-07-24 03:06:35 UTC

That would be 4th gear on my car

2018-07-24 03:06:48 UTC

4th is direct

2018-07-24 03:07:13 UTC

So what would your solution be?

2018-07-24 03:07:18 UTC

what year is it

2018-07-24 03:07:25 UTC

Make 5th gear slightly shorter

2018-07-24 03:07:34 UTC

Thats really all it needs

2018-07-24 03:07:42 UTC

I have a 2014 Eco

2018-07-24 03:07:45 UTC

Then you'd have the same complaint about 5-6

2018-07-24 03:07:58 UTC

Not really. 6th gear is fine as is

2018-07-24 03:08:08 UTC

at 60, what is the rpm difference between 4th and 5th

2018-07-24 03:08:14 UTC

The difference hmm.

2018-07-24 03:08:23 UTC

Okay i gotta think for a sec lol

2018-07-24 03:08:43 UTC

I wanna say i am at roughly 2700 in 4th.

2018-07-24 03:08:44 UTC

not really a fair question, I don't think I could answer that without trying

2018-07-24 03:09:16 UTC

you know

2018-07-24 03:09:27 UTC

I mean maybe it is just me. Thats a possibility

2018-07-24 03:09:34 UTC

I think your problem with your gear ratio is because you don't like revving your car

2018-07-24 03:09:41 UTC

Maybe.

2018-07-24 03:09:52 UTC

I do rev it sometimes, just not super often

2018-07-24 03:10:16 UTC

It doesnt help that there isnt much of a point to it in my car

2018-07-24 03:10:34 UTC

The power curve really starts turning into a plateau above 4500rpm

2018-07-24 03:10:51 UTC

Goes completely flat at 6k

2018-07-24 03:11:04 UTC

(At least per my butt-dyno)

2018-07-24 03:11:08 UTC

that's probably because smol turbo

2018-07-24 03:11:13 UTC

Oh yes

2018-07-24 03:11:24 UTC

Its a midrange turbo. Not high end by any means

2018-07-24 03:11:35 UTC

Midrnge revs i mean

2018-07-24 03:12:04 UTC

I wonder how big of a turbo that engine could spool before it started becoming more laggy

2018-07-24 03:12:25 UTC

Good question.

2018-07-24 03:12:56 UTC

Not a whole lotta data on it i dont think. Not many people turbo swap cruzes unless they mean to race or some shit lol

2018-07-24 03:13:27 UTC

Generally people just try to keep the stock turbo and give it some help.

2018-07-24 03:14:21 UTC

Probably why you start having more torque than hp once you start getting into intercooler upgrades etc. I think even after just a tune its making 165 ish horsepower and like 177lb ft

2018-07-24 03:15:05 UTC

well turbo changes usually mean manifold changes which is instantly expensive
