recycling is broken for tons of stuff

"plastic recycling" is mostly a total farce

If it aint metal, recycling wastes resources.

Had a fun convo with my suite mate at school about that

He was big on recycling.

I made one argument to him.

"Why is it that you only get paid to recycle metal and nothing else?"

It kinda blew his mind

He never actually came back with a response

A vast amount of plastic that is marked for recycling is shipped to the far east and burned or dumped

it would be better for everyone if it was just pushed into a landfill

or burned closer to home with some sort of filtration on emissions

Most plastic CANT be recycled

I dont remember exactly why tho

and even the plastics that can are often contaminated and too dirty to turn into any kind of quality material

I know my older sister was really picky about which plastics to recycle after she found out they burn most of it tho

plus it's highly costly to sort out all the plastic

especially when a lot of plastic can be produced from waste products of oil refinement which is being done anyway

@Fitzydog my guess? One out of every thousand milk jugs is pure enough to be used. The rest are trash.
