@Jek Porkins not a K98 she’s a Yugo M98 and the last is a Springfield 1903A3
Same thing different factory
I’d get a real German K98 but fuck me they’re over priced to hell
Last one I saw was about 1,200 and not in the excellent shape
Surp is so expensive now.
91/30's are going almost $300 now.
The best deals are handgun surp.
French MAS isn’t too high priced but the ammo is a pain to find
Most of those guns I got cheap because the stocks were sporterized
I have all the GP11 I could ask for now
Noice
>sporterizing
Bubba, why
Something something rifle too heavy
I unironically quote Ivan Chesnokov at Fudds and Bubbas
Sporterizing is literally heresy
Very much so
The god emperor will be displeased
And that’s why I buy them. To fix them back up.
Ooohhh that's good
In fact I have a Springfield 1903 made in 1910 I’m getting parts for right now.
With any luck I’ll keep doing this and re-sell some later to good homes.
How much tho
Well I wouldn’t charge a premium. Say I had a restored Yugo M48. I’d sell for 400-500. Not a great deal but a somewhat fair one.
I don’t think most Yugos need much if any restoration.
They were made post WWII
And even then, they were rearsenaled often if I remember right.
Nah I want the Springfield
The Springfield is a meme. The Army fielded more M1917 Enfields, which were better rifles.
The virgin Springfield, and the chad Enfield.
Well I have two Springfields. One 1903A3 by Remington and one Springfield M1903.
The 1917 is a nice gun but I’d rather get a regular Enfield.
any glock people awake?
I'm trying to get a trigger around 3->3.5 lbs while maintaining drop safety and allowing it to still pop wolf primers
The ghost 3.5 improved things over the stock; as did polishing it (And then subsequently shoving 5k rounds downrange) but I want just a bit more
I'm looking at three core things:
-Less mushy during the wall; I'd like to ditch polymer triggers since that's definitely something I feel needs to go. Better consistency after high round count between needing to re-lube it and blow out the crud (I've tried doing handloads with different powders, minus CFE Pistol which I still can't find locally)
-stopping all that fucking overtravel
-reset distance I'd like to be shortened
Zev has this skeletonized striker that looks like it's an excellent design from the crud-impacting-feel perspective
since it's got two points of contact; but I'm not sure how well it'll hold up long term.
I'm tempted to just grab random components from all over an make myself a FCG that works well but I know how the thing works and you don't want to mix shit together
I know just by design it's not going to be everything I want. It's not going to be my hand polished 1911 trigger without a firing pin safety
but I'd like to try and get as close as I can without inserting any issues
