2018-11-24 23:51:44 UTC

Literally why is this a thing?

2018-11-24 23:53:52 UTC

Russia

2018-11-25 00:06:21 UTC

@Jek Porkins not a K98 she’s a Yugo M98 and the last is a Springfield 1903A3

2018-11-25 00:06:53 UTC

Same thing different factory

2018-11-25 00:07:05 UTC

I’d get a real German K98 but fuck me they’re over priced to hell

2018-11-25 00:07:42 UTC

Last one I saw was about 1,200 and not in the excellent shape

2018-11-25 00:11:05 UTC

Surp is so expensive now.

2018-11-25 00:11:15 UTC

91/30's are going almost $300 now.

2018-11-25 00:11:31 UTC

The best deals are handgun surp.

2018-11-25 00:17:35 UTC

French MAS isn’t too high priced but the ammo is a pain to find

2018-11-25 00:18:00 UTC

Most of those guns I got cheap because the stocks were sporterized

2018-11-25 00:19:56 UTC

I have all the GP11 I could ask for now

2018-11-25 00:21:05 UTC

Noice

2018-11-25 00:21:26 UTC

>sporterizing

2018-11-25 00:21:33 UTC

Bubba, why

2018-11-25 00:24:50 UTC

Something something rifle too heavy

2018-11-25 00:25:26 UTC

I unironically quote Ivan Chesnokov at Fudds and Bubbas

2018-11-25 00:25:53 UTC

Sporterizing is literally heresy

2018-11-25 00:26:52 UTC

Very much so

2018-11-25 00:31:06 UTC

The god emperor will be displeased

2018-11-25 00:31:59 UTC

And that’s why I buy them. To fix them back up.

2018-11-25 00:36:32 UTC

Ooohhh that's good

2018-11-25 00:39:00 UTC

In fact I have a Springfield 1903 made in 1910 I’m getting parts for right now.
With any luck I’ll keep doing this and re-sell some later to good homes.

2018-11-25 00:49:39 UTC

How much tho

2018-11-25 01:01:41 UTC

Well I wouldn’t charge a premium. Say I had a restored Yugo M48. I’d sell for 400-500. Not a great deal but a somewhat fair one.

2018-11-25 01:53:23 UTC

I don’t think most Yugos need much if any restoration.

2018-11-25 01:53:34 UTC

They were made post WWII

2018-11-25 01:54:03 UTC

And even then, they were rearsenaled often if I remember right.

2018-11-25 02:08:13 UTC

Nah I want the Springfield

2018-11-25 04:05:42 UTC

The Springfield is a meme. The Army fielded more M1917 Enfields, which were better rifles.

2018-11-25 04:10:14 UTC

The virgin Springfield, and the chad Enfield.

2018-11-25 06:22:11 UTC

Well I have two Springfields. One 1903A3 by Remington and one Springfield M1903.

2018-11-25 06:22:51 UTC

The 1917 is a nice gun but I’d rather get a regular Enfield.

2018-11-25 10:43:35 UTC

any glock people awake?

2018-11-25 10:48:14 UTC

I'm trying to get a trigger around 3->3.5 lbs while maintaining drop safety and allowing it to still pop wolf primers

2018-11-25 10:49:50 UTC

The ghost 3.5 improved things over the stock; as did polishing it (And then subsequently shoving 5k rounds downrange) but I want just a bit more

2018-11-25 10:54:04 UTC

I'm looking at three core things:
-Less mushy during the wall; I'd like to ditch polymer triggers since that's definitely something I feel needs to go. Better consistency after high round count between needing to re-lube it and blow out the crud (I've tried doing handloads with different powders, minus CFE Pistol which I still can't find locally)
-stopping all that fucking overtravel
-reset distance I'd like to be shortened
