2018-07-04 23:49:06 UTC

2018-07-04 23:49:06 UTC

Aka Catholic scholars

2018-07-04 23:49:10 UTC

That is not an argument

2018-07-04 23:49:16 UTC

The pagan hero -> saint thing is legit

2018-07-04 23:49:18 UTC

you need citations

2018-07-04 23:50:03 UTC

The counsel of nicea was about making a sect of Christianity Heretical

2018-07-04 23:50:22 UTC

That was what converted Emperor Constantine

2018-07-04 23:50:24 UTC

Saints are people who ahieve greatly through divine intervention is the generally accepted simple-definition. Pagans and non-believers can become saints

2018-07-04 23:50:49 UTC

*"That which is presented without evidence can be denied with the same"*

2018-07-04 23:51:11 UTC

And yet you have provided nothing for your claim <:think_woke:378717098681171988>

2018-07-04 23:51:32 UTC

Some easy reading for you

2018-07-04 23:51:34 UTC

<:deus_vult:382980746727522305> Heretic

2018-07-04 23:52:02 UTC

But everything from christs *birthday* to many of the stories and saints were pagan in origination

2018-07-04 23:52:26 UTC

lol the calendar of the church?

2018-07-04 23:52:29 UTC

christ's birthday was moved

2018-07-04 23:52:33 UTC

What are you even arguing about

2018-07-04 23:52:42 UTC

and it's a feast-day not a birthday

2018-07-04 23:52:43 UTC

We are talking about mutual consenting marriages

2018-07-04 23:52:44 UTC

The winter solstice is a pretty universal constant in religions

2018-07-04 23:52:44 UTC

Dont worry the jewish people did similar as well. Thats why much older religions are parrotted in modern ones

2018-07-04 23:53:02 UTC

@Goblin_Slayer_Floki Christmas is a feast-day not a birthday

2018-07-04 23:53:05 UTC

It makes for easier conversions

2018-07-04 23:53:47 UTC

Christian feast days were also called Holy-days...which we now call Holidays

2018-07-04 23:54:07 UTC

Not originally

2018-07-04 23:54:23 UTC

I just said that

2018-07-04 23:54:33 UTC

St Patrick's day! yay

2018-07-04 23:54:53 UTC

It was changed as this reality came to light. So again. Things were taken. Yes some adjusted later but still taken all the same :)

2018-07-04 23:55:55 UTC

you are misconscruing the reasons

2018-07-04 23:56:56 UTC

Lol you dont think it was for easier converting of pagans while streamlining the scriptures?

2018-07-04 23:57:09 UTC

the church legitimised the divine interventions of the pagan saints as divine interventions, and they moved feast-days to make easter less jumpled up (Christ's original feast day was nearer to summer than winter)

2018-07-04 23:58:04 UTC

You realize the *resurrection* story has grounds in 4 other far older religions?

2018-07-04 23:58:17 UTC

Just jumping around

2018-07-04 23:58:23 UTC

throwing random points

2018-07-04 23:58:38 UTC

The hero's story is a common story

2018-07-04 23:59:09 UTC

Egyptian, Zoastrian, Hindu, cant remember the fourth I think roman/greco

2018-07-04 23:59:37 UTC

Romulas is a misnomer

2018-07-04 23:59:46 UTC

yes, and the world is held up by 4 dwarfs. There are 7 billion humans and uncountable dead humans, things have been done before
