@Ondsinet You're in <#372513679964635138>

2018-11-12 18:51:17 UTC

How harsh are your policies

2018-11-12 18:51:25 UTC

do people get in trouble for talking during class?

2018-11-12 18:51:28 UTC

Extremely

2018-11-12 18:51:48 UTC

what's the disciplining of children who get in fights?

2018-11-12 18:51:57 UTC

Depends on conversation topic and teacher

2018-11-12 18:52:02 UTC

Or repeat offenses

2018-11-12 18:52:04 UTC

@Fitzydog my take on the dude getting kicked In the balls in the painting

2018-11-12 18:52:59 UTC

give me a couple scenarious @haserd2

2018-11-12 18:53:03 UTC

trying to understand how this works

2018-11-12 18:53:15 UTC

*did you get the notes for last class*

2018-11-12 18:53:23 UTC

Vs *nigger*

2018-11-12 18:53:33 UTC

Kid gets bullied, and someone punches him on the playground

2018-11-12 18:53:33 UTC

One is more zero tolerance

2018-11-12 18:53:55 UTC

everyone gets in trouble for saying shit like nigger/spic/etc

2018-11-12 18:53:58 UTC

Kid fights back in self defense, and both are suspended

2018-11-12 18:54:03 UTC

but like more general stuff you know

2018-11-12 18:54:06 UTC

like general talking

2018-11-12 18:54:15 UTC

do people get punished for that

2018-11-12 18:54:17 UTC

"Kid fights back in self defense, and both are suspended"

2018-11-12 18:54:23 UTC

Depends on the teacher

2018-11-12 18:54:45 UTC

that's extremely homosexual. @Fitzydog

2018-11-12 18:54:58 UTC

do american schools combat bullying in any way

2018-11-12 18:57:50 UTC

@haserd2 These are not teach dependent. These are district policies

2018-11-12 18:59:45 UTC

Off personal experience a teacher can designate weather to follow the policy or not

2018-11-12 19:00:16 UTC

Some may give warnings for talking rather than outright detention

2018-11-12 19:03:56 UTC

Others do the opposite

2018-11-12 19:04:28 UTC

Some treat basic questions between students as full on classroom disruptions. No matter what the convo was about

2018-11-12 19:04:31 UTC
2018-11-12 19:07:15 UTC

As I'm aware, around here, the schools are a bueracratic nightmare where the teachers are obligated to follow specific policies and have practically no personal discretion

2018-11-12 19:12:18 UTC

Some teachers and even principals can be cool, though. But yeah, they are bureaucratic nightmares.

2018-11-12 19:13:51 UTC

I was being heavily bullied by a group of kids, and the leader was getting increasingly violent with me. I asked the principal what she’d do if I hit him in self-defense, and she said that she’d have to give us both the same punishment, but she’d then take me out for ice cream on her personal time.
