One thing that might be a factor is that if they can get rid of May, it might stop Labour challenging no-confidence in the government, which would trigger an early election if won.
Theresa May's husband is a hedgefund banker, so he could make billions if everybody thinks no-deal Brexit is off the table but he's ready for it... but that's a big "what if" to rely on.
