Horns, for a bull

2018-12-12 00:02:55 UTC

Index and pinky extended from a fist I think

2018-12-12 00:02:59 UTC

Hahaha

2018-12-12 00:03:53 UTC

I guess they might be obscene in the Vatican I guess

2018-12-12 00:04:03 UTC

Pretty sure they were fined, but there was an uproar at the time over it. Maybe ten years ago?

2018-12-12 00:04:06 UTC

It's not Italy, they got their own law

2018-12-12 00:04:51 UTC

Right but I think it may have been an Italian language thing, though who knows could be satanic

2018-12-12 00:04:58 UTC

I mean, you're in the Vatican, know someone they don't like which happens to have horns?

2018-12-12 00:05:09 UTC

Yeah

2018-12-12 00:06:09 UTC

But still. If nothing else there is a certain perception of a lack of freedom in Europe amongst many Americans, and recent developments really don't help.

2018-12-12 00:07:23 UTC

Based Berlusconi

2018-12-12 00:08:06 UTC

Well I'm pretty sure that if an Indian came to America they would complain that they can't shit in the streets

2018-12-12 00:08:16 UTC

Every culture has its own things

2018-12-12 00:11:24 UTC

Yeah but everyone tries to pain Europe with gold, you know?

2018-12-12 00:11:45 UTC

@EnderOctanus not really lol

2018-12-12 00:13:13 UTC

I mean, that hand gesture predates most countries in the world today

2018-12-12 00:13:23 UTC

And inspired the use in heavy metal

2018-12-12 00:14:07 UTC

The only thing I can appreciate in Europe is history and traditions and cultures old as fuck

2018-12-12 00:14:25 UTC

I kind of Lost my point

2018-12-12 00:14:28 UTC

Opsie

2018-12-12 00:14:51 UTC

That's why our politicians point to Europe to justify new policies that some country also uses

2018-12-12 00:15:39 UTC

Because some people are dumb enough to think that culture or history = good modern policy

2018-12-12 00:16:18 UTC

<:thronk:441701565607444482>

2018-12-12 00:16:22 UTC

Ah yes

2018-12-12 00:16:22 UTC

"Denmark does it. France does it. Germany does it, can't be that bad."

2018-12-12 00:16:24 UTC

Of course

2018-12-12 00:17:46 UTC

That seems very wise

2018-12-12 00:17:51 UTC

Or the whole "Australia got rid of all its guns just fine, they weren't murdering people trying to seize their legal firearms!" Which is true but the same won't happen here.

2018-12-12 00:18:34 UTC

I'd really hate to be the guy picked to go to houses to search for guns lol

2018-12-12 00:18:38 UTC

Switzerland has got a ton of guns

2018-12-12 00:18:55 UTC

Yeah they always somehow forget that bit

2018-12-12 00:21:01 UTC

We can't have a debate here without using some other country as a model. No other country faces the same unique challenges as America. To half of us, Europe is a place for the elite, the rich and famous, the cultured and so on. Like its a big utopia.

2018-12-12 00:21:32 UTC

It's the opposite

2018-12-12 00:21:40 UTC

Or it used to be

2018-12-12 00:21:57 UTC

The real shining beacon of civilization. They seriously romanticize it that heavily.

2018-12-12 00:22:01 UTC

A few years back America used to be the example when taking about industry or reform

2018-12-12 00:22:15 UTC

@EnderOctanus I can see the romanticism

2018-12-12 00:22:35 UTC

Like, for poetry, arts and culture I can agree

2018-12-12 00:22:38 UTC

Well. I think that was definitely true in the mid 20th century
