Of course

2018-12-12 00:17:46 UTC

That seems very wise

2018-12-12 00:17:51 UTC

Or the whole "Australia got rid of all its guns just fine, they weren't murdering people trying to seize their legal firearms!" Which is true but the same won't happen here.

2018-12-12 00:18:34 UTC

I'd really hate to be the guy picked to go to houses to search for guns lol

2018-12-12 00:18:38 UTC

Switzerland has got a ton of guns

2018-12-12 00:18:55 UTC

Yeah they always somehow forget that bit

2018-12-12 00:21:01 UTC

We can't have a debate here without using some other country as a model. No other country faces the same unique challenges as America. To half of us, Europe is a place for the elite, the rich and famous, the cultured and so on. Like its a big utopia.

2018-12-12 00:21:32 UTC

It's the opposite

2018-12-12 00:21:40 UTC

Or it used to be

2018-12-12 00:21:57 UTC

The real shining beacon of civilization. They seriously romanticize it that heavily.

2018-12-12 00:22:01 UTC

A few years back America used to be the example when taking about industry or reform

2018-12-12 00:22:15 UTC

@EnderOctanus I can see the romanticism

2018-12-12 00:22:35 UTC

Like, for poetry, arts and culture I can agree

2018-12-12 00:22:38 UTC

Well. I think that was definitely true in the mid 20th century

2018-12-12 00:22:51 UTC

But I wouldn't look over here for politics lol

2018-12-12 00:22:58 UTC

Right

2018-12-12 00:23:23 UTC

I mean, Germany managed to shut out communism and nazional socialism

2018-12-12 00:24:19 UTC

Eeeeehhhhhhhhh..... I mean yes... But kinda went down a different, also bad, route.

2018-12-12 00:24:38 UTC

Depending on how recent you mean anyway

2018-12-12 00:24:44 UTC

?

2018-12-12 00:25:15 UTC

They did have the Nazis is my point. Who hated Communists.

2018-12-12 00:25:38 UTC

Communism and *nazional socialism*

2018-12-12 00:26:14 UTC

You know

2018-12-12 00:26:22 UTC

*nazi*

2018-12-12 00:27:09 UTC

lol yeah

2018-12-12 00:28:27 UTC

Then again we only showed Europe how to fight an industrialized war AFTER our own bloodiest war, so you live and learn I guess.

2018-12-12 00:30:38 UTC

Honestly, trenches. Good for defending, and ONLY defending. If you just plan to 'defend' and use artillery forever, might as well have a trade war. See which economy collapses first. Same principle minus the blood.

2018-12-12 00:31:25 UTC

I don't think trenches are very useful these days

2018-12-12 00:31:28 UTC

Then again Britain did try that prior to WWII

2018-12-12 00:31:49 UTC

Oh they are when reinforcing positions

2018-12-12 00:32:10 UTC

Not complex systems like in WWI though

2018-12-12 00:32:39 UTC

Nukes are no good for defending

2018-12-12 00:32:42 UTC

Ideally you won't need the trench very long.

2018-12-12 00:32:48 UTC

Wellllllllllllll

2018-12-12 00:32:49 UTC

At least if you have to use them

2018-12-12 00:33:09 UTC

Yes that's the joke

2018-12-12 00:33:13 UTC

I guess, how desperate are you?

2018-12-12 00:34:01 UTC

Tactical nukes will almost definitely be used if someone SUCESSFULLY invades the U.S. Nothing large yield though.

2018-12-12 00:51:53 UTC

@EnderOctanus That's why the PEOPLE need nukes as well!

2018-12-12 01:10:28 UTC

what about that congressman that said he was going to nuke anyone that doesn't give up their guns?

2018-12-12 01:10:57 UTC

Swallwell
