and a goal in life that will giveyou fulfilment

2018-10-03 16:39:56 UTC

it takes less time than starving I believe

2018-10-03 16:40:14 UTC

medititation works wonders

2018-10-03 16:40:18 UTC

I suppose I'm just being a devil's advocate for forced evolution.

2018-10-03 16:40:25 UTC

sleep isnt on maslow's heirarchy, you get it if you have immediate safety and/or shelter

2018-10-03 16:41:06 UTC

I used to mock meditation but it makes sense if you view the body as a machine

2018-10-03 16:41:23 UTC

i wish i could clear my mind

2018-10-03 16:41:37 UTC

mind and body is connected if you fat fkg slob of course yoi will be depressed cause you poison yourself

2018-10-03 16:41:53 UTC

Even the best designed engine cannot run 24/7 without outside assistance. eventually it will overheat or wear out from stress.

2018-10-03 16:42:12 UTC

humans are like machines

2018-10-03 16:42:16 UTC

Basic Needs (Literally needed), Air, Water, Food, Sleep
Technical Needs, Clothing, not technically needed, Shelter, not technically needed, Sex, Is needed for race but not individual
Safety Needs, Personal Security, Emotional Security, Financial Security, Health and Well Being
Social Belonging, Friendship, Intimacy, Family
Esteem, Recognition, Status, Outside Respect
Self Actualization, Creative Output, Achievement of Perceived Potential, Making Own Decisions

2018-10-03 16:42:28 UTC

not necessarily in order

2018-10-03 16:42:35 UTC

of actual importance

2018-10-03 16:42:59 UTC

social need is actually important if you become a hermit yoi will get batshit crazy

2018-10-03 16:43:06 UTC

humans arent made for isolation

2018-10-03 16:43:10 UTC

a lot of people will put making their own decisions ahead of *most* of the above

2018-10-03 16:43:42 UTC

I'm trying to make a simulator that can figure out relations between these needs

2018-10-03 16:43:50 UTC

Unfortunately we are not perfect in decisionmaking or form.

2018-10-03 16:43:57 UTC

just dont everything is related

2018-10-03 16:44:17 UTC

We should always strive to be closer to perfection in every conceivable fashion.

2018-10-03 16:44:21 UTC

yeah

2018-10-03 16:44:54 UTC

We don't need to be perfect in our decisions, we just need the freedom to make the decisions for ourselves.

2018-10-03 16:44:55 UTC

that's a thing though, you should always be working toward perfection, but never dwell on the fact that it's unachievable, or on how much farther you have to go to each milestone

2018-10-03 16:45:10 UTC

when you ostracise people and they aint a bitch they will be dangerous

2018-10-03 16:45:23 UTC

if they are a bitch they might kill themselves

2018-10-03 16:46:14 UTC

just work on a goal that truly means something for you...

2018-10-03 16:46:15 UTC

@Angus Being aware of the impossibility of the task being completed within one lifetime should help motivate people to ensure their descendants both exist and are able to move forward with that goal.

2018-10-03 16:46:27 UTC

yeah

2018-10-03 16:46:41 UTC

dont have to be their children it could be co writers etc

2018-10-03 16:47:03 UTC

they could have someone to go on with that legacy

2018-10-03 16:47:18 UTC

my father made sure I was going to be able to go into the world farther along than he started

2018-10-03 16:47:25 UTC

But I'm a sucker for doomed efforts and heavily romanticize the concept of futile struggle, so I may be biased.

2018-10-03 16:47:49 UTC

@Angus Exactly, that's the base level and should be the building blocks of a person giving a shit about themselves AND others.

2018-10-03 16:48:18 UTC

i never understand why some thinks it cool to not give a shit

2018-10-03 16:48:35 UTC

I've gone through a lot of those phases

2018-10-03 16:49:00 UTC

I can understand apathy or unawareness of others, but for an otherwise intelligent person to willfully ignore the consequences of their actions is greatly displeasing to me.

2018-10-03 16:49:19 UTC

and I think the reason some people get stuck in them is because they weren't taught to always try and better themselves, and to always look at several sources on a broad spectrum of topics before you believe anything too serious

2018-10-03 16:49:27 UTC

They're like 50% of the way to being a near-ideal human and fucked it up on the easiest bit.

2018-10-03 16:49:57 UTC

there's also being uneducated, which both should not be used or taken as an insult

2018-10-03 16:50:07 UTC

you can learn a lot from monks

2018-10-03 16:50:15 UTC

it's something anyone needs to recognize about themself and just try to fix
