Someone asked why anyone would be a communist and I think I have an answer for you.

One of the kids in my class is far left. He's very active in discussion. Now this is just an observation of one person and most likely not representative of the whole group. From listening to him talk I think it comes from a good place. Problem is that I think people like him are overly idealistic and empathetic to the point where it become naivety. For example he talks a lot about the golden rule, "treat others how you want to be treated" for those who don't know, and how we should apply that to government.
