T R I G G E R E D

2018-10-23 07:19:50 UTC

I had that issue before after an update. I had to start in safe mode and attempt various drivers. But when that didnt work. I had to reinstall windows via the safe screen

2018-10-23 07:20:08 UTC

What makes stuff like that so annoying is that it seems that there are a billion and one things that can cause it and Windows gives you no fucking feedback

2018-10-23 07:20:50 UTC

When it happened to mine the web basically said 4 to 5 drivers and the update possibly clash. Full reinstall cleared that.

2018-10-23 07:21:22 UTC

I attempted the drivers first naturally. But no avail so doubt that was the actual issue

2018-10-23 07:21:23 UTC

I've been doing some googling in the past 5 minutes and I have found multiple potential causes. USB devices, Windows updates, drivers

2018-10-23 07:21:28 UTC

Want to install drivers? Problem. Want to install programs? Problem. Want to change system settings? Problem. You spend 95% of your time copy pasting commands off of ubuntu forums because literally nothing works without a hitch, there is inevitably a missing something or other or you got version 192.2853.3535 and you need 192.2853.3536, shit like that

2018-10-23 07:21:32 UTC

It doesn't just work

2018-10-23 07:21:46 UTC

Whenever you're troubleshooting Windows you're always stumbling around in the dark

2018-10-23 07:22:10 UTC

Thats only gotten worse as new versions come

2018-10-23 07:22:15 UTC

Oh yes

2018-10-23 07:22:17 UTC

No because there is very little to troubleshoot and it's always a matter of clicking next a few times

2018-10-23 07:22:31 UTC

I used to be able to fix most issues from 7 back

2018-10-23 07:22:45 UTC

7 was the last acceptable Windows

2018-10-23 07:23:01 UTC

After that micro has made it less end user friendly for tech fixes

2018-10-23 07:23:47 UTC

If you ever do decide to give Linux another shot in the future, worry less about the distro and more about the desktop environment. That's what's responsible for the user interface and other UX stuff, and it is *not* tied to the distro in most cases

2018-10-23 07:24:12 UTC

I havent fucked with linux in a long time

2018-10-23 07:24:25 UTC

Debated it again. Cause 10 is insufferable

2018-10-23 07:24:29 UTC

KDE is incredibly nice now

2018-10-23 07:25:00 UTC

It used to be one of my least favorite DEs, now it's my favorite by far. The dev team must have been assassinated and replaced or something

2018-10-23 07:25:24 UTC

The only fear with linux atm is the possible pull out.

2018-10-23 07:25:36 UTC

It won't happen

2018-10-23 07:25:47 UTC

@radeon it would verify whether its software fuckery or broken hardware <:what:382980756139409409>

2018-10-23 07:26:00 UTC

windows elitism doesn't help you fix your pc lad

2018-10-23 07:26:05 UTC

They'll blow smoke and virtue signal, but it will never happen. Linux has a ton of corporate backing, and they simply will not tolerate any fuckery of that variety

2018-10-23 07:27:30 UTC

Apocalyptic scenario is that they try to take the project full SJW and Red Hat forks it

2018-10-23 07:31:11 UTC

I'm doing a BIOS update now

2018-10-23 07:31:37 UTC

It's not elitism it's personal experience I've gotten far fewer headaches from windows than I have linux

2018-10-23 07:31:59 UTC

That's fair enough

2018-10-23 07:32:32 UTC

I will say that a lot has changed in the past 4 years in terms of usability. Granted, a lot of it depends on what you're using it for

2018-10-23 07:32:37 UTC

In Windows it's just download checkbox next next install done

2018-10-23 07:32:40 UTC

Hmm

2018-10-23 07:32:41 UTC

Easy

2018-10-23 07:32:59 UTC

Not sure if a BIOS update will help your issue, but it can't hurt

2018-10-23 07:33:02 UTC

No code language or repositories required

2018-10-23 07:33:29 UTC

I think it might be fast boot fucking with something

2018-10-23 07:33:40 UTC

In Linux I just do one command and every program on my system is automatically updated. Repository autism is retarded, that's why I just go for something Arch-based and use the AUR

2018-10-23 07:33:47 UTC

And that is entirely possible

2018-10-23 07:33:55 UTC

it is elitism when you refuse to even consider booting just to verify if your hardware is fucked

2018-10-23 07:34:00 UTC

I bought Forza horizon 4

2018-10-23 07:34:10 UTC

ID RATHER NOT KNOW IF IT MEANS NOT USING LINUX
