I had that issue before after an update. I had to start in safe mode and attempt various drivers. But when that didnt work. I had to reinstall windows via the safe screen
What makes stuff like that so annoying is that it seems that there are a billion and one things that can cause it and Windows gives you no fucking feedback
When it happened to mine the web basically said 4 to 5 drivers and the update possibly clash. Full reinstall cleared that.
I attempted the drivers first naturally. But no avail so doubt that was the actual issue
I've been doing some googling in the past 5 minutes and I have found multiple potential causes. USB devices, Windows updates, drivers
Want to install drivers? Problem. Want to install programs? Problem. Want to change system settings? Problem. You spend 95% of your time copy pasting commands off of ubuntu forums because literally nothing works without a hitch, there is inevitably a missing something or other or you got version 192.2853.3535 and you need 192.2853.3536, shit like that
It doesn't just work
Whenever you're troubleshooting Windows you're always stumbling around in the dark
Thats only gotten worse as new versions come
Oh yes
No because there is very little to troubleshoot and it's always a matter of clicking next a few times
I used to be able to fix most issues from 7 back
7 was the last acceptable Windows
After that micro has made it less end user friendly for tech fixes
If you ever do decide to give Linux another shot in the future, worry less about the distro and more about the desktop environment. That's what's responsible for the user interface and other UX stuff, and it is *not* tied to the distro in most cases
I havent fucked with linux in a long time
Debated it again. Cause 10 is insufferable
KDE is incredibly nice now
It used to be one of my least favorite DEs, now it's my favorite by far. The dev team must have been assassinated and replaced or something
It won't happen
@radeon it would verify whether its software fuckery or broken hardware <:what:382980756139409409>
windows elitism doesn't help you fix your pc lad
They'll blow smoke and virtue signal, but it will never happen. Linux has a ton of corporate backing, and they simply will not tolerate any fuckery of that variety
Apocalyptic scenario is that they try to take the project full SJW and Red Hat forks it
I'm doing a BIOS update now
It's not elitism it's personal experience I've gotten far fewer headaches from windows than I have linux
That's fair enough
I will say that a lot has changed in the past 4 years in terms of usability. Granted, a lot of it depends on what you're using it for
In Windows it's just download checkbox next next install done
Hmm
Easy
Not sure if a BIOS update will help your issue, but it can't hurt
No code language or repositories required
I think it might be fast boot fucking with something
In Linux I just do one command and every program on my system is automatically updated. Repository autism is retarded, that's why I just go for something Arch-based and use the AUR
And that is entirely possible
it is elitism when you refuse to even consider booting just to verify if your hardware is fucked
I bought Forza horizon 4
ID RATHER NOT KNOW IF IT MEANS NOT USING LINUX
