IIRC Peterson relays that Nietzche blames Paul for this

2018-12-23 03:24:58 UTC

Somewhere in his book

2018-12-23 03:25:01 UTC

Chapter 7 or 8

2018-12-23 03:25:04 UTC

OOF

2018-12-23 03:25:34 UTC

I was just gathering as much, from the Protestant concept of faith alone being enough

2018-12-23 03:26:39 UTC

I suppose you could be right both in your interpretation and the one about Paul, as Paul opened things up beyond having to strictly adhere to Jewish rules for living

2018-12-23 03:27:17 UTC

And Protestants ran with that

2018-12-23 03:27:27 UTC

to get out from under the Vatican's thumb

2018-12-23 03:28:10 UTC

Hmmm.... idk

Like, I think traditional Anglicans still get it, but the rest of protestantism.

Which leads back to Martin Luther.

*A German.*

2018-12-23 03:29:32 UTC

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "The Jews" is a spook, and its actually Germans who use the label for victim status, in order to advance their agenda.

It's not the Jews, it's Germans *pretending* to be Jews.

I really wasn't bringing up a point specifically about the Jews, just that when Paul was evangelizing one of the chief hurdles he had to tackle with everyone was getting them to buy into Jesus message without having to deal with all the structure of Jewish laws that traditional Judaism had to deal with(Since at the time Christianity was considered by it's adherents to be a spinoff of Judaism rather than a fully formed new religion)

And I'm alluding in a sense that the Protestant loosening of structure and meaning following the Reformation may have had the same effect, fulfilling the suspicion about Nietszche's conclusions

Of course this is all loosely summarized and based on a game of telephone on what Nietszche actually meant through Jordan's words, so...
