you know those plastic cylindrical containers you'll get from take-away restaurants? usually hold soup and what not? professional chefs use those to contain sauce bases, mirepoix, etc - things they make ahead of time. some "genius chef figured out if he could have that same grade of container, but make them square, instead of round, he'd free up a bunch of space in his restaurants fridge.....
some engineer/fabricator cranked out a bunch of square ones for him, and he made a tidy little profit selling them to other local restaurants
