same with western maryland and eastern ohio
ohio's pretty redneck
especially in the southeast
spose it depends on your def of redneck vs backwater vs hillbilly vs mountain folk
yes, the bits bordering west virginia
but when i think redneck i think georgia alabama
I mean, you really consider the term, it's from heavy farming states
great plains and all that
because you're spending all your day in the field, in the sun, you get a red neck
vex that's because of public school conditioning and brainwashing
and going off of that, ohio would definitely count
also yes
it's a racial slur against whites
obviously
redneck is synonymous to white trash these days
because whites sunburn when they're out working
you can argue the semantics of the word and what it should mean, doesnt change how it's typically used
and speaking as someone who's been to alabama and through atlanta and s georgia plenty, it's plenty redneck
yes, it's literally used to insult working class whites and call them trash
Only man I know living an incestuous lifestyle is in "Great Plains" - and that's not Alabama to my knowledge. Not that that's any data at all 😄
mm i think it's closer to meaning "whites who live in trailer parks w thick accent and not middle class" doesnt mean it is technically meant as an insult
could be used as an insult, same way dago or wop would be
I tend to think of "white trash" as more a trailer park thing
I've heard "redneck" used as an endearing term, like redneck engineering, but I've never heard white trash used in a positive way
like saying someone is from the ghetto or is ghetto trash may not be meant to insult em
same way redneck can be used
or uhh the same way nword-a is used
up here redneck is a pretty positive term
mainly because we're all farmers
yeah its used here in florida pretty positively
lol where in FL
anyway my point was i have friends in alabama that would happily agree with the label, they enjoy their baiyou life
I lived in miami for a while and it's an insult for sure
st augustine
oh so real florida
fair
miami isnt a part of the US anymore
florida is just all over the place, the city and the rural areas are like two different states
