Well.... that’s not an accurate description to what the genes are doing. Genes create proteins. Proteins react to the environment. One guy wrote a book, I thinks it’s called “[something] degeneration” where he took twins that varied in only lifestyle and found that the environment played a bigger role in looks than genes did.
