Better guns are being 3D printed now, semi-automatics.

They were airdropped into occupied territories in WW2 to give some form of arms to a resistance form. This has nothing to do with modern every day self defence.
You need to get the ammunition somewhere, and at the place where you illegally buy the ammunition you could just get a Mak and have an actual pistol.
Building a 12ga from home depot materials is not the challenge.
Plus I'd rather have 1 shot of 12/70 than a .45 from 2-3" barrel

But yeah, countries that prohibit gun ownership have air guns. So, there's that.
Ammo isn't that hard to make.

Most shotgun shells have plastic hulls? Right? Flashette rounds issued in Vietnam also had plastic casing. 3D printing a shotgun shell isn't that hard. Propellant can be made with household chemicals.
Not household, but anything that can be found in a science lab.
The primer is the hard part to make at home.
But even then
Rock salt.
Sorry man, you are peak LARP.
Why is that your response to everything?
Because it is the truth, you seem very much detached form reality when it comes to these things.
Also, Liberators aren't the only guns you can 3D print.
The question is, does the use of a 3D printed gun for self defence make any sense? No.
