people are physical

2019-11-15 06:13:54 UTC

I debated a molecular genetist who was mexican. And I did not make progress until I went from the gene pool to race

2019-11-15 06:13:55 UTC

different races are physical

2019-11-15 06:13:58 UTC

races are subspecies

2019-11-15 06:14:00 UTC

they are real

2019-11-15 06:14:12 UTC

what do you mean Hector

2019-11-15 06:14:16 UTC

did you get that backwards?

2019-11-15 06:14:22 UTC

the different groups LOOK different, they have different CLUSTERS of frequency of genes, they ACT differently, they SOUND different, they PERFORM different, the brain is different, the size, the size/ ratio of parts, they have different strengths and weaknesses on IQ tests.
This is universal wherever they are.

2019-11-15 06:14:23 UTC

you mean from race to gene pool?

2019-11-15 06:14:24 UTC

"not different"

2019-11-15 06:14:33 UTC

@Nerthulas . Ethnicity refers to clusters of people who have common culture traits that they distinguish from those of other
people.

2019-11-15 06:14:39 UTC

because these people like to play games with terms that they don't understand

2019-11-15 06:14:43 UTC

I start with the evolutionary progress and differentiate a tribe or nation and move bottom up.

2019-11-15 06:14:52 UTC

Ethnicity is the same word as Race, one is Greek and one is English

2019-11-15 06:14:58 UTC

The guy I was debating had a ph d in molecular genetics.

2019-11-15 06:15:09 UTC

denying race is racist..
I mean, all you ever hear from latinos is la raza this, and la raza that..

so, saying race doesn't exist is racist against latinos

2019-11-15 06:15:17 UTC

the words are sometimes used in different ways

2019-11-15 06:15:22 UTC

natio means ethnic

2019-11-15 06:15:32 UTC

pretending race isn't real is pretending you think these evolved in norway

2019-11-15 06:15:40 UTC

Hector he was a race-denier?

2019-11-15 06:15:40 UTC

I don't bother defending them because they aren't useful when debating someone that is competent.

2019-11-15 06:15:42 UTC

yes

2019-11-15 06:15:51 UTC

just define your terms and you'll be fine

2019-11-15 06:15:54 UTC

they are useful

2019-11-15 06:15:55 UTC

tbh

2019-11-15 06:16:04 UTC

the PhD doesn't know what he's talking about

2019-11-15 06:16:14 UTC

Well, I tried that and did not go anywhere in convincing him

2019-11-15 06:16:22 UTC

tell him that a race is merely a genetic cluster

2019-11-15 06:16:37 UTC

When I started bottom up, I got somewhere and got him to give ground

2019-11-15 06:16:40 UTC

if you didn't convince him then you failed

2019-11-15 06:16:41 UTC

differences in groups have been known for thousands of years

2019-11-15 06:16:45 UTC

this is nothing new..

2019-11-15 06:16:55 UTC

he was literally just hung up on a term like a retard

2019-11-15 06:17:15 UTC

probably didn't have a good grasp of the history of the word

2019-11-15 06:17:19 UTC

like 40% of the anthropologists in the west believe in race, but like 80% of the rest of the world knows it's real

2019-11-15 06:17:25 UTC

you are in the minority

2019-11-15 06:17:26 UTC

learned in school it meant something it doesn't actually mean

2019-11-15 06:17:33 UTC

If you start with the race concept, it inherently puts you on the defensive since he can just change the definition. I start with a process of evolution and develop a concept

2019-11-15 06:17:42 UTC

the anthropologists who don't believe in race are cultural anthropologists

2019-11-15 06:17:44 UTC

btw
