I think one aspect that would be interesting to look at is,
in any given population, how long does a group of people take to get back on its feet after some catastrophic event.
For instance, some good examples are europe got back on its feet after WW2 pretty quick, even through everything was devastated..
another good example is Japan, also WW2 there was literally nothing left, 50 years later fiber optic everywhere, monorails and bullet trains.

So how about other countries, after some devastating wars..
after some war how long does it take for them to get back up?
There should be a metric like that that takes this into account.
