https://youtu.be/-TISVubPMeM People say this anime is deep but it wasn't meant to be. The whole purpose of this show was to get people who don't usually think introspectively or question the reality in front of them to think. Anno basically said that this show was to rehabilitate otakus, and whilst it didn't succeed to that respect, it certainly succeeded in the former criteria.
never understood the obsession with Neon Genesis Evangelion
there are so many other good anime
me neither
shiiied, a nega just wanna watch Dragon Ball Z
This is one of my favorite Dragon Ball moments.
it was a good episode
I hated the Majin Buu arc though
just cause the writing was so bad
this episode was imo the last good episode
This may be my favorite Dragon Ball moments.
Basically Anno is right to say that people overanalyzed the show and it sucks that it's becomes a symbol of the mass consumerism and otakuism that Anno despised to begin with, but he has no choice but to allow it in order to fund rebuilds.
Future Trunks vs Cell was really good.
lol, look what I found in gifs, lol
The rebuilds are necessary in Anno's mind because the original series was made when he was going through major depression after the death of his wife. The rebuilds are a take on Evangelion from a non-depressed remarried Anno. He basically needs to make a new Evangelion from the perspective of a new Anno, to sort of put those years behind him.
why did his wife die?
You can tell Anno must've had some serious dedication to this franchise though, when he basically animated it himself with marker and crayon after they ran out of money.
Dunno.
Dragon Ball is actually hugely underrated
