Yeah

2020-01-01 17:44:59 UTC

Cause Japan fucked it all up

2020-01-01 17:45:15 UTC

the slavic expansion was no joke as we know today

2020-01-01 17:45:29 UTC

but i agree there should have been a non-communist solution to that

2020-01-01 17:45:41 UTC

Nah, Japan were owned by Russia during the skirmishes at Mongolia. Given that their territories were mostly at sea, they had a more capable navy. They were going to invade Russia if the German's had taken Moscow, but they didn't.

2020-01-01 17:46:07 UTC

No, they should've attacked them anyway

2020-01-01 17:46:11 UTC

Overall, Japan rightfully avoided expanding North.

2020-01-01 17:46:23 UTC

No.

2020-01-01 17:46:26 UTC

Yes

2020-01-01 17:47:01 UTC

Germany had a more capable army. If they couldn't invade Russia, Japan were right to assume they wouldn't stand a chance.

2020-01-01 17:47:45 UTC

And yet they coordinated their war effort, somewhat

2020-01-01 17:48:01 UTC

So they should've known better

2020-01-01 17:48:22 UTC

They were gonna do it, if Germany had taken Moscow.

2020-01-01 17:48:41 UTC

That wasn't necessary

Listen, Japan lost against Russia before WW2 had even started. They completely abandoned their doctrine of northern expansion because of it. They were rightfully distrustful of any incursion against the Soviet Union. Stalin wanted to defeat Germany in order to convince Japan that an incursion against the Soviet Union wouldn't've been viable, by having Germany defeated before Japan, they would've abandoned the idea of invading them and Stalin would've avoided a two front war.

2020-01-01 17:55:34 UTC

Haha, Augustus Invictus got arrested.

2020-01-01 17:56:08 UTC
