2020-01-23 17:04:22 UTC

Thats the contradiction of liberalism

2020-01-23 17:04:32 UTC

sovereingty (every man a sheriff and contributing to mutual defense) and not liberty (you're free to contribute or not)

2020-01-23 17:04:43 UTC

board games or pc games or bowling or bocce or something

2020-01-23 17:04:43 UTC

My best friend moved recently. : ( He was an IT major with a minor in physics. We could talk for hours.

2020-01-23 17:04:51 UTC

Well everyone is sovereign under liberty

2020-01-23 17:04:57 UTC
2020-01-23 17:04:58 UTC

@Chawosaurian the problem comes of having standards in general. Liberty implies that you should be doing anything as you please, including infringing on others property. Sure you might say thats not how it works, but thats the basis of conflict. If Im not allow to go inside any place I want then I dont really have liberty. It automatically becomes authorative. Also there is a problem of ownership as a whole, what dictates that my land is my own? Nothing, because I set those standards. So if someone comes and kills me if there is no state or monolopoly and my right of life is infringed with the will of someone else. There are no standards in this system, unlike say mornarchy of fascism which give out a common GOOD standard for everyone to follow

2020-01-23 17:05:21 UTC

I don't usually talk with my friends about their academics

2020-01-23 17:05:21 UTC

No

2020-01-23 17:05:25 UTC

if you do not exert force and contribute to mutual defense (or, personal defense even), you're not sovereign in any way

2020-01-23 17:05:29 UTC

Liberty does not include infringing other peoples property

2020-01-23 17:05:38 UTC

you're living at the license of those who may kill you if they wish

2020-01-23 17:05:42 UTC

ok

2020-01-23 17:05:42 UTC

That type of liberty is self-contradictory

2020-01-23 17:05:54 UTC

well it does include denying others the possibility of killing you

2020-01-23 17:06:00 UTC

Its not

2020-01-23 17:06:00 UTC

Theres still authority in a way

2020-01-23 17:06:04 UTC

My friend and I almost never talk about academics. We talk about our hobbies. We like reading together and reading things together.

2020-01-23 17:06:10 UTC

but its not through central monopolist

2020-01-23 17:06:12 UTC

it is not about your liberty ***to***
it is about our liberty to say ***fuck off***

2020-01-23 17:06:16 UTC

We would try to learn to cook sometimes. XD

2020-01-23 17:06:26 UTC

the owner of each property, is the authority there

2020-01-23 17:06:34 UTC

start watching at 1:23:57

2020-01-23 17:06:36 UTC

reading together...? what does that mean?

2020-01-23 17:06:36 UTC

the only thing society can reasonably provide are defensive rights

2020-01-23 17:06:42 UTC

thnx birb

2020-01-23 17:06:49 UTC

it's not contradictory. look. people need defense. people coalesce and delegate defense to one another. these groups are the sovereign. they confer liberty to all.

2020-01-23 17:06:53 UTC

Like, we would go to the library and just read in each other's presence.

2020-01-23 17:07:02 UTC

Until then its ok

2020-01-23 17:07:03 UTC

The founding material is all addressed to sovereign men

2020-01-23 17:07:05 UTC

🏳️‍🌈

2020-01-23 17:07:10 UTC

if im not allowed to do w/e i want there is no personal standards, no liberty or anything at all

2020-01-23 17:07:10 UTC

The thing is the jump

2020-01-23 17:07:15 UTC

it's not to women, children, underclassed

2020-01-23 17:07:17 UTC

it becomes okay some people band together to protect everyone
