Holy shit. Sorry @Skellington I forgot I started this discussion and went with my errands. I really don't know what to think because both sides of the argument have some point. Before I say what might be appealing for me in paganism I would say what makes me doubt Christianity, I will put it short expand later if needed. It is objectively speaking foraging, it was adopted. Certain Christian teachings (but that might the fault of misinterpretation of those teachings by people who are teaching them, so not necessarily teachings themselves), corrupted institution of the church itself, destruction of native culture and history (which in some cases is happening to this very day).
Now, what is appealing in paganism. It is a faith that grew with the people, it is integral part of them and defines who they are. The thing you mentioned about the heretige and culture, native faith (paganism) sanctifies it. To the extent I would even say protects it. It is unique to certain grup and only that grup. Is this how the things are currently with the pagan/paganism? No absolutely not and I understand how rotten and subverted the communities of neopagans are.

As paganism I referre to old faith/native faith. Wicca is retarded, I don't need anyone to convince me. As to the truth, I would be great If at least one side had an ounce of it more to tip the scale in my head but for me at least on both sides is as much truth and lies.

But Skellington, Paganism did also grow with Europe look at the greatest of achievements by the European people under those Pagan Deity's. Yes sometimes it did get quite decadent, But so has Christianity. We mustn't forget that many Pagan days of worship and Gods have been incorpated within our faith today. Not only that what drove our people (Germanic, Slavic, Celtic etc) into these area's?. The Pagan gods did and the core principles they taught. Not only that our ancestors i think were that of enlightened beings. Even though i am a Christian and worship Christ as my savior and redeemer, I accept that these gods were not evil but were examples for the Archetypes that influenced the warrior spirit of the European.

The God's influenced us to this very day, I could honestly care less if you are Christian or Pagan i only see you as a fellow European who is willing to save our great Civilization from destruction.

Our ancestors really didn't believe in a creator deity, They may of had names for them but thought that they were out of the realm of our comprehension.

The gods we see are just In reality Gods of the Virtues and Enlightenment of a true Indo-European man/women.

Paganism didn't always grow with specific cultures- just look at the gods Romans officially worshipped before embracing Christ: you see an odd mix of Hellenic, Persian and even Egyptian.

Still, the core premise isn't completely false. However, just look at any Slavic culture and tell me they didn't grow with Christianity too.

Serbian Orthodox is a perfect example of this with various traditions (small t) growing out of their conversion, such as Slava Saints and burning the Badnjak

With the Romans, They adopted "Cults" this was when Rome started to become decadent. Also quoting Asha Logos here and some information by Plutarch "The Romans Descended from those refugees from troy". Furthermore great cult's that had nothing to do with the roman pantheon was the worship of Marthas. This was a roman warrior cult. Adopted when the romans were at war with the Persians. So these cults had almost nothing to do with the main roman pantheon and were we allowed to stay as it started as many cults started to be adopted by the Aristocracy.

Also on the note of troy this means that the Romans may of had alot of influence from these Greeks as the original people who migrated to the area may of been troy Refugees. So this must mean that Greek Religion was brought with them to this new land and slowly started to be called by another name.

As the Italic cultures and the Trojan culture mixed this led to the creation of the Roman pantheon which is closely related to that of there Trojan Predecessors.

Keep in mind Plutarch is writing in the 1st century AD
