And Mary revealed to one of the saints that freemasons aren’t exactly greeted by the angels of God when they die.
gonna be honest, was interested in the masons in the past
but if thats the case then idk
as a kid I was intrigued because I knew nothing about them and they seemed like some sort of edgy secret society
but even my boomeresque catholic mum knew they were evil
id been told by people they're basically a club of rich people who help each other with stuff
^
Depends basically where and who they are.
The Apollo lodge in Wales is essentially a bunch of rich Oxbridge Graduations who wear silly hoods and cloaks over their dinner jackets and drink copious amounts of Gin.
But then, they still ascribe to the same organisation, so fiery pits for those eccentric drunkards, too.
Most of the low levels are harmless and don’t know what’s going on tbh
It’s the high levels that are the problem
But all the same, you shouldn’t join the Masons regardless
What does <#557359532838354944> mean
"There is no salvation outside the Church"
Oh nice
Is byzantine catholic an oxymoron? no offense intended
no
@LuxCo there's actually an interesting documented history about it, there might of been a combination of the churches past the Council of Lyons in the 14th century were it not for the Byzantine emperor's untimely death, and the pope pulling out in favor of French and Spanish interests
For the Council of Lyons, or a history about byzantine catholics?
byantine Cat.?
should I just search up their history?
closest you might get to important politicla figures is pro-unionists towards the end of the empire
overall there's not much covering the specific subject
ah ok
yeah
conversion to catholicism went out the window after Manuel II if I recall
oh i see.
in short theyre catholic and practiceable by catholics?. I mean I love Latin Rite but I heard of a Catholic who is going to attend one, i just wasnt sure.
you mean traditional latin mass?
yeah
They're basically orthodox in communion with Rome, same byzantine traditions etc but just as Catholic as you and I
you can go to a byz cath church and receive all the sacraments whenever, going to their divine liturgy counts as sunday obligation too
yeah, I'm more familiar with the history of the Empire and it's religion rather then modern day byz-catholics
they're a perfect example of how the church is truly catholic - meaning universal
most of us are Roman Catholics, but one doesn't have to be Roman to be Catholic
