The book also explains not to trust false messiahs, every claim to be Christ is false, when Christ returns (in the sky) everyone will know who he is with absolute certainty, including the dead. The false ones may lead our brothers astray though, lies are easily crushed by the truth though. Praying three times a day and fasting is an incredibly powerful combination. Real fasting is no food or liquid but water. There are spiritual rewards for how many days in a row one can do this. Also, it may be useful to get rid of material attachments, in preparation for the hard times. Those who have never experienced hunger, will suffer more when they are starving than those who are more experienced. The Essene Gospel of Peace may be worth a read.
