Basically, the plot is that some edgelord called the Auditor, along with his mercenary army, and his top scientist, Jeb Christoph, created a big-ass reality altering thing called the Nexus to gain control over all of reality, then created a bunch of things called Improbability Drives that you can use to access the Nexus and alter reality to a certain, localized degree, and give yourself cool-ass powers. Jeb Christoph got an Improbablity Drive shaped like a halo, and basically went insane and got a messiah complex. Later, some mercenary called Hank, and his friends, Sanford and Deimos, didn't like this, so they started killing all his guys. Then the Auditor didn't like this, so he sent his mercs, along with his weirdass henchmen, the Clown and Jeb to deal with him. The rest of the series is pretty much that.
